  • All new materials have their own particular smell, which gradually disappears. Airing and vacuuming the rug will help to eliminate the smell.

    The rug is machine-woven.

You will need 2 STOPP FILT rug underlay with anti-slip (165x235 cm) for this rug. Trim if necessary.

Rugs with structure or hard edges can cause marks on soft wooden floors even when used together with an anti-slip underlay.

Love it!Verified ReviewerPerfect rug for the space that we needed, the quality is great and the price was ideal.5
Excellent product at an incredible priceVerified ReviewerGreat, hardwearing rug. Excellent quality. Great underfoot even when barefoot. The value for money is OUTSTANDING - this size rug on other sites are £200-£350.5
Very poor qualityVerified ReviewerThis is the 3rd Lohals rug I've purchased over the years as its ideal size to cover a worn stone kitchen floor. Previous ones have been really good quality + finish. This one is very different- knots + raised tufts all over it. Not a uniform colout like previous ones, has some dark brown + black knots sticking up that look like holes. It looked worn out from the minute it was laid. I can only assume they are now using cheaper materials. Customer services is dire- they have taken down email + chat facility so cant contact them. Very disappointed, will be writing to complain.1

Love thisVerified ReviewerGreat rug. Perfect size and quality is amazing.5
Great big rug for priceVerified ReviewerVery large, great for layering, it’s a bit rough on bare feet but it looks good.5
Excellent rug in various sizesVerified ReviewerWe have been using these rugs for some years. They wear well (and we have a dog) and look great on our hard floors. Easy to deal with any minor spills, spot washing with plain water over an old towel. Vacuum once a week. The price is very reasonable so we replace every couple of years and move the old rug into office or study. I love this range which suits our style perfectly.5
Perfect!Verified ReviewerThis was perfect for what I needed. It's a great rug. Fantastic quality! I'm planning on getting the larger size too.5
Lovely big rug at a reasonable priceVerified ReviewerReally lovely big rug. Great value for money and looks really expensive.5
Really nice rug! Looks expensiveVerified ReviewerLooks more expensive than the price! Lovely quality!5
Large rugs for excellent valueVerified ReviewerBought 2 of the large rugs to go under dining room table and although we have a non slip underlay under them, they do move around a bit. Also one has stretched. This could be due to the fibres.4
So good I’ve bought it twice!Verified Reviewer1st Ikea review and well worth it. Rug is very large in size and extremely durable. Surprisingly soft to walk on barefooted considering the material. Vacuums very easily too!5

Keep in the warmth with natural jute fibre

LOHALS rug is made of 100% jute. It’s a highly durable, natural fibre that doesn’t need large amounts of pesticides or fertilisers to grow. A jute rug is also a good companion for cold floors, as it has great heat insulation qualities.

Material

What is jute?

Jute is a very hardwearing fibre that is found in the stem of the jute plant. It’s an easy-to-grow plant that requires very little fertiliser, pesticides or water and is ready to harvest after only 120 days. The jute fibre is often used for ropes and sacks but is also known for its silky-smooth lustre and can be spun into finer threads which are then woven. In our range we often use woven jute for items like curtains, rugs and furniture.
