Reviews

Bit fiddlyAnonymous reviewerPay attention to the instructions as I missed a crucial step that meant I needed to start again - but it was my fault. Sturdy and secure. Worth it5
Lonset BaseAnonymous reviewerFar better than the standard slotted base, worth the upgrade.5
Bed slatsAnonymous reviewerBought the lonset as it’s very sturdy and fixes in frame exactly and doesn’t move Great support5
Excellent bed base!Anonymous reviewerI made an error in my previous review of this product as I stated that it was cheaper to buy this bed base together with a bed frame rather than separately. This is not the case, the bed base is the same price no matter how you purchase it. My mistake, sorry! Nonetheless, this base was very easy to assemble and gives great support to the Valevag mattress which I also purchased. Very pleased. 5
Excellent bed base!Anonymous reviewerI upgraded to this bed base when purchasing a single bed. I found it to be very easy to assemble and of very good quality. It gives excellent support to the mattress. I’m very pleased with this purchase. It is cheaper to purchase this bed base while purchasing a bed frame rather than as a stand alone item. Highly recommended. 5
Great nights sleepAnonymous reviewerCan’t recommend these enough! Have transformed my bed when I thought the frame would need replacing. Raises the mattress, so much better than my previous slats.5
Worth the extraAnonymous reviewerThe comfort level with a sprung bass is very noticeable 5
Quality slats, poor bracketsAnonymous reviewerThe slats themselves are sturdy and make sleeping more comfortable but a month in the plastic/rubber brackets have started to collapse. Didn’t have any issues putting them together, took me about an hour by myself to assemble them. 3
Does the job.Anonymous reviewerThis certainly made a difference to our bed. A bit fiddly to fit but would definitely recommend. 5
Great bed baseAnonymous reviewerMuch steadier than expected. Great for my sons bed and very comfy. Takes some time to put together and requires some patience.5
Awesome addition to Malm bedAnonymous reviewerLove the new bed slats, they make such a difference. They were quite easy to put together just don’t screw the frame properly until all are in. 5
4TH PURCHASEAnonymous reviewerI HAVE PURCHASED 4 OF THESE NOW GREAT SYSTEM5
Real bounce tech!Anonymous reviewerI was very surprised at how much support these slats provide compared to my old Luroy set. They really do give spring as a result of the rubber hinge design. Quite incredible. I now believe that overall comfort experience is 60:40 - mattress : frame support after purchasing this set!5
Fine to assembleAnonymous reviewerDont buy the £25 one for tonstad bed ...buy this one.5
Perfect Anonymous reviewerWell made, strong and sturdy. Simple to assemble 5
Very easy to assemble Anonymous reviewerVery easy and simple to attach to the bed frame I only wish this would have come with the bed frame and not as a separate item it's confusing5
Too short and too narrowAnonymous reviewerNot a good fit so would fall through2
Very easy to put together and comfortable Anonymous reviewerThe only thing that we felt that could have help Was to confirm it was a standard British double bed size.4
Great to use as floor bedAnonymous reviewerWe bought the king of this last year to have a floor bed for co- sleeping, now just bought the double for our toddlers to move into together. Ignore the reviews about it being really difficult to assemble, I managed to put it together alone in about an hour with a baby on me! Just make sure you don't tighten the frame before you put the slats in and it will go together easy peasy. Great way to get your mattress off the floor without spending a fortune! 5
Easy to assemble, not sure yet about usageAnonymous reviewerThis is a common sense win for Ikea. After working out a technique for fitting the slat, it went together well and seems sturdy enough. The main problem was the instructions were missing. All the pieces to put it together were there so a quick search for the instructions online solved the issue. In the seemingly characteristic challenge Ikea always seem to build in to their furniture, this was an easy victory to me. I will write reviews of the Malm bed and the wardrobe I bought with this as well.3

What is layer-glued wood?

With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
