Reviews
Clever design Anonymous reviewerNever any leaks when fit these. To connect to 32/40mm Uk waste pipe, Mcalpine manufacture euro fittings, they’re tagged as ISO compression fittings. Can buy from Screwfix etc.
Sink Waste Anonymous reviewerVery easy to use and makes a real tidy job when finished
Item not fit for purposeAnonymous reviewerWhile the product may initially appear adequate, several flaws become apparent upon installation:
1 - The ribbed waste pipe will Block over time.
2 - My unit experienced a leak straight out of the box, occurring where the second waste pipe connects to the first at the base.
3 - Due to the design, the waste pipes beneath each plughole sit below the trap, causing a significant amount of water to remain in the pipes, which will lead to future blockages.
4 - The waste pipe's opening at the top of each sink is positioned too high, resulting in wastewater being fed back into the washing machine’s drain, which is a serious concern.
5 - The waste pipe's diameter is not compatible with standard UK plumbing, so unless you’re confident in using PTFE tape (I resorted to using gas PTFE tape), this product may not be suitable for DIY installation.
While the product is affordable and initially seems well-designed, these significant shortcomings make it difficult to recommend.
Sink wasteAnonymous reviewerWhen selecting the cover the website states you must buy the chrome waste, but this also part of the waste unit, so you will be eating £6 on a duplicate chrome waste
Excellent product Anonymous reviewerGreat quality and so adjustable. It was very easy to fit & great value
sink drainAnonymous reviewerThe Ikea drain kits are lousy, they dont match up with UK pipes and the way they are designed, they clog up and leak. I am going to have to replace everything with UK standard pipes and drain. I have installed a lot of sinks and drains and never had the problem I have with this. Big mistake buying it, constant headache. Also, no hole in the sink for tap. Had to buy a cutting tool to punch holes for the tap. Dont buy
Sink waste systemAnonymous reviewerBetter instructions would have been helpful, had to YouTube it then it all made sense
One overflow for a double sink?Anonymous reviewerOther people have already written about this. But why on earth does a pipe system for a double sink only have one overflow pipe? The canned response is "well don't fill up the sink without an overflow". But obviously the overflow is there as a failsafe in the event of an emergency or accident in which the user has to leave the room in a rush and forgets to turn the tap off. Nobody intentionally fills a sink beyond capacity leaving the tap running! It's there precisely for those moments where you make a mistake to cover your back. At least provide a cover for the unused overflow so that water spray doesn't go down into your cupboard filling it with moisture!

Fits tap perfectlyAnonymous reviewerFits tap perfectly
Lillviken pipingAnonymous reviewerThe pipes are neat and tidy my only quibble is that the smell from the washing machine pipe comes up if the plug is out and bubbles from the washing sometimes come up into the sink, this is because the washing machine connection is above the U bend
Doesn’t fit!Anonymous reviewerWas told in store this would fit the Belfast sink but it does not. The screws are far too short?! Tried calling customer services but couldn’t get through. Old plumbing is leaking. What am I supposed to do?!
Only one overflow?Anonymous reviewerThis was supplied with the Havsen double sink, but there’s only one overflow pipe? Are we just supposed to leave the other overflow hole open and let water pour into the cupboard?
Twin sink drainageAnonymous reviewerEasy quick to fit only issue I have is they dont last that long and once the seal goes there is no way to replace them so it's a whole new unit to replace 25-30 quid for a 10pence washer !!
Excellent design!Anonymous reviewerExcellent product and easy to fit! Made fitting our new sink super easy! Highly recommend
Doesn’t fit domsjo screws too shortAnonymous reviewerDomsjo sink and old waste not available. I was told that this would fit the new sink and the old Domsjo but the screws supplied are too short as the Domsjo is thicker. Make shure you source longer screws to secure waste to sink before starting. I was left without a sink for three days.
Leaked the first few weeksAnonymous reviewerLeaked the first few weeks, booked to have whole drain rebuilt by plumber at a cost of £100+ but it randomly seemed to stop leaking after a few weeks, not brave enough to fill the cupboard again though.
Better off with McAlpineAnonymous reviewerThe corrugated pipe is a poor design flaw and unless flowing near vertically it is bound to clog up.
Well designed and madeAnonymous reviewerNeeded a replacement for my 10 year old Ikea kitchen plumbing, which had no access to allow interior cleaning. This fitting has telescoping sections which enabled it to line up with both sinks (different depths) and overflow, in seconds. It also features a twist-off bottom cap to accept a bottle brush if a blockage occurs - only likely if the provided strainers are not used :-) There are two locations to accept dishwasher plumbing. Even a stub to hold the key which secures the basin attachments.
