The fabric dims daylight entering the room and reduces glare. It gives a comfortable sense of privacy as people cannot see in. At night, silhouettes can be perceived from outside when the room is lit.

Matching tiebacks enhance the fulness of the fabric and add a traditional and decorative accent to your window treatment. Adjust the height to create a look that best suits you.

Cotton is a soft, durable and easy-care natural material that you can machine wash.

Curtains with heading tape allow you to hang the curtain directly on the curtain rod using the rod pocket or tabs. You can also hinge the curtain onto a track rail using gliders and hooks.

Using gliders and hooks usually creates a more formal and dressed-up feel, where hardware is not visible.

The heading tape makes it easy for you to create pleats using RIKTIG curtain hooks.

The curtains let the daylight through but provide privacy so they are perfect to use in a layered window solution.

The curtains are sold in pairs. The sizes stated refer to each single curtain. For the total width, double the width of a single curtain.

Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming.

You can use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing.

15 gliders and hooks are usually recommended for each curtain with a width of 140 cm. You can increase or decrease the number depending on whether you want narrower or fuller folds in the pleats.

They Look Smashing.Anonymous reviewerA few tips to make these look high end: purchase at least 50% more than what you need so when you have drawn curtains there is still abundant material. Use the Riktig curtain clips for a gorgeous pencil-pleat finish. Steam them and hem them to graze the floor; and use curtain weights in the new hem. Make sure to allow for the ~4% shrinkage when you wash them — so cut your hem AFTER the first wash, not before. They are not fully translucent; they let in more light than what they block. But they are perfect for bright rooms like the living room or the study. You can pair them with blackout roller blinds to fully obscure a bedroom too. Very lush drape, sliiiightly flaxy colour (the oat/ off white) which adds texture and flair.5

Lenda curtains have changedAnonymous reviewerI had some Lenda curtains in light sage green bought 4 years ago and ordered again as I needed 4 curtains for a large window. These were a different shade of green, more like grey. The material was different, not a soft and the heading was entirely different. Disappointed and have given them to charity.2
Consistent QualityAnonymous reviewerI’ve had a pair of these curtains precious when they were tan top design, these are exactly the same but different top, allowing multiple attachment methods to curtain pole. The colour may be a little creamier than my previous pair, which were more raffia coloured, but the material quality is good, the lines in the fabric make them look more expensive than they are. I hung my curtains high on the wall to allow enough drip of the fabric and they still pool on the floor, but I don’t mind. I didn’t wash them, I steamed them after hanging. They creases dropped out and it freshened them up. They block enough light to act as a good filter in the day and at night I use another blind behind them for extra opacity. Very pleased for the price.5

Story

Beautiful curtains from leftover fabric

LENDA curtains have been part of our range for around 20 years, much appreciated for the soft atmosphere they bring to the room and the gentle way light filters through their cotton fabric.

“It’s not something you’d notice when hanging your curtains, but together with our supplier, we’ve managed to create a fabric made from 50% leftover cotton from the textile industry,” says an enthusiastic Karin Svensson, one of our textile engineers.

Leftovers are spun into new yarn

In almost all textile production, leftover yarn and fabric scraps are common. For a long time, they’ve often been discarded because they weren’t seen as the resource they really are. “We know cotton production uses a lot of water and chemicals. So, when leftover textiles get thrown away, it’s a huge waste of resources,” Karin says. Just like we did, our supplier saw the value in saving those scraps and developed a method where textiles are shredded into fibres that can be spun into new yarn. A certain amount of unbleached cotton fibres must be added to achieve the right yarn strength. “To create LENDA curtain in different colours, the supplier used textile leftovers in selected hues. But because the raw materials are different, the colour can shift slightly as a nice reminder of where the fabric comes from.”

Recycling starts with the right choices

The LENDA project is an important step toward our goal of using only renewable or recycled materials in our products. Through her work, Karin has seen just how complex the traditional textile industry can be. “Different materials and colours are often mixed, which makes recycling difficult. With LENDA, we've learned that we have to think about sustainability right from the start – and find creative solutions with whatever conditions we're working with."
