Luxury made our way. We used resilient foam filling for comfort, thick grain leather on the contact areas – because it looks amazing, and durable coated fabric elsewhere to keep the price down.

Product details

Contact areas with soft, dyed-through 1.2 mm thick grain leather that is supple and smooth to the touch.

Seat cushions filled with high-resilience foam and polyester fibre wadding provide great seating comfort.

The outer surfaces are covered in a durable coated fabric with the same look and feel as leather.

Grain leather is treated with a light protective surface coating to retain its natural look with marks, wrinkles and colour variations. Therefore it´s also less resistant to sunlight, dirt, liquids and scratches than leather with a thick surface treatmen

The seat cushions, back cushions and inside, top, front of the armrests are covered with GRANN – a soft, smooth and strong grain leather with natural variations. Other surfaces have the coated fabric BOMSTAD.

Care

Clean with a duster or vacuum lightly using the soft brush attachment.

Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Protect from direct sunlight to prevent drying-out.

The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist colour fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.

Most importantly this is much higher quality in terms of build and the thickness and suppleness of the leather than any other sofa I have had, even ones costing several times more. Good value but a bit too deep and too lowAnonymous reviewerLooked everywhere for a simple 2 seater brown leather sofa that was both affordable and would fit through the narrow door of my flat. This ticked a few boxes and, amazingly, it was delivered in a couple of days. It's solid enough (very heavy, actually) and, though it's a bit more 'orange' than I'd have liked, it blends well in my room and you'd never know some parts weren't leather. It's a bit too deep. And the back is too low. Optional head rests would have been good and I might have chosen a sofa from another store that offered these, only it was out of stock. I'll probably mainly use this for when I want to stretch out longways as, annoyingly, IKEA no longer sell the matching foot stool and, even with cushions behind me I'm struggling to get really comfortable without one. I think there is a chaise version but I detest them - awkward, cumbersome things!3

What are leathers, skins and hides?

Leathers, skins and hides are durable, hardwearing materials that we strive to produce as responsibly as possible. That’s why we only use by-products from the food industry and we have requirements for traceability to slaughterhouses, thereby ensuring ethically correct slaughters. The materials are then treated so that they’re usable for home decoration products. In this process we don’t allow the use of chrome, which is potentially harmful to both humans and the environment.
