Great shelves!Anonymous reviewerBought these so we could extend our current Lack shelves. They are great…..BUT… really wish the fittings for this size were the same ‘bar’ type as the larger shelves. These were so much more difficult to hang and nigh on impossible to line up exactly with our existing shelves! More detailed instructions for how to hang these accurately would have been appreciated!
Terrible - not fit for purpose Anonymous reviewerSo bad I could not install these and had to go in the bin. The fixing system is not secure even for the weight of the shelf itself - it would point south and gap away from the wall, instead of being horizontal and flush. Ikea, why not use the same brackets as the larger Lack shelves? This has been very poorly thought through.

This shelve does not use the same fixing mechanism to the wall as the larger shelves. It's attached by two small screws! Judging by the 'Ikea' responses they don't seem to be getting this. It's not rocket science

Nice little shelf Anonymous reviewerBought to go on wall beside bed as didn’t want a bedside cabinet. Looks great and serves the purpose I needed it for. You can’t put to heavy an item on the shelf otherwise would come off wall unless you fix with a shelf bracket.

But this shelf is a cheap version of the old one, a nightmare to put up and I don't even dare to use it for my plants!
I would not recommend to buy this product! Bring the old version back!

Simple floating shelfAnonymous reviewerI can't believe the reviews for this shelf!!! No IKEA furniture comes with screws to attach to any walls. IKEA don't take that risk of liability. Someone else said these need a bracket. It's a floating shelf!! It's a small shelf, people are expecting too much. I was impressed with this design for a floating shelf and I had my reservations but I put two up in my kitchen on either side of my splashback. I ended up having to slightly move the fitting because I'm rubbish with a tape measure but it still works and now my worktops are clear of kitchen clutter. I bought some hooks (not from IKEA) and attached them underneath for utensils. This small but deep size was perfect

Hard to fitAnonymous reviewerWhilst these are part of the Lack range, the method of attaching them to the wall is considerably different to the longer counterpart. The longer shelves require you to fit a metal bracket to the wall before pushing the shelf onto the bracket. This 300mm version requires you to position the screw heads perfectly and drop the shelf onto them, using keyhole brackets attached to the shelf. This means that you have to get the right sized screw heads, in exactly the right place, set the right distance from the wall to pull the edge flush. It would be far, far easier if they had used French cleats that let you position the wall side in the open. This is much more forgiving of the different fittings (NOT SUPPLIED!) that may be required for plasterboard, wood/stud or brick. Additionally, a paper or card template of the shelf outline and the position required for the fixing would be a huge bonus. You can't line these up easily so that they are level or fit into a small gap.
