Not actually a pairAnonymous reviewerI too wish I had read the reviews, it's very annoying to be sold a pair only to find that they are different sizes. This is not the definition of a pair. They also don't fit well in IKEA furniture. This would have been mitigated if the large one was slightly larger. As it is you can fit 4 small ones very snugly into a kallax (but if you try and get them out again the whole lot will come too) but when you put the three large ones in there's a displeasing gap down the side. I'm really quite annoyed. As others have said the quality has been downgraded from the previous ply to fibreboard which has the side effect that the sticky labels I used to use on the old version don't stick, nor are they as easy to paint or cover so you're stuck with quite an ugly matt buff finish. They're sturdy but aesthetically extremely displeasing and there's not much you can do to change it.

One unit however had a slight gap in the dovetail join but a hard slap with the palm of my hand fixed that. I like the fact that there are finger holes front and back to withdraw from shelving.
Con: Only one which can't be avoided is obviously the inner one is narrower which will hold fewer items. This could be overcome if the design of the big one was mirrored and put together like a jigsaw but the downside to that would mean bigger packaging and price.
Would recommend this product to anyone wanting solid storage.

Misleading size informationAnonymous reviewerThe accurate measurement info is not provided under 'Weights and Measurements', but under 'Product Details - Good to Know' where you see the differential measurements for the two pieces are 9x24x31 cm and 10x25x31 cm. Like others (I wish I had read the reviews) I'm disappointed to find these are a pair of differently sized files, as the smaller of the two will not accommodate the folders I have my papers in. Suggest the information for both pieces is put on the 'Measurements' tab where people would logically look for this info, and the differential sizing quoted in the description (the benefit is that they nest inside one another). I have bought 6 sets and will have to unfortunately return.
The material and construction is reasonable for the price - a nice light brown MDF.
They Used To Be Much BetterAnonymous reviewerPreviously, these were built from birch ply, and they were excellent. Now, they are made from cheaper and inferior mdf and they are horrible. I avoid mdf because of the health concerns, and it's also less strong. Another example of a once great product, ruined. Ikea - please bring back the wooden version!!!

Awkward sizes as pairs are not equalAnonymous reviewerWe bought these to add to the old pine version. They don't look too bad alongside one another. I understand why the pairs stack inside each other, but it means that the smaller one does not fit much wider than an A4 sheet, so not good for the music books that we want to store in them. We've tried buying enough to use just the larger one, but then they don't fit on our new Billy corner unit.

MDFAnonymous reviewerI'm so disappointed. I purchased some a few years ago and they had a lovely wood grain. I bought a pair this year (2023) to match and now they're made of a horrible MDF! It looks awful, I can't imagine having these on display anywhere. Please bring back the old style!
