Almost perfectAnonymous reviewerWe had a fitted bin arrangement inside a kitchen cupboard (came with the house), but we've always thought it unhygenic. We got this to have outside on the path between the house and garage, and it works fine for general waste. The only issue is, although we buy the right size of waste bag, when anything heavy goes in or it's closer to full, the retaining ring doesn't always hold the bag in position and it slips inside. The bin could have done with being slightly shorter to stop this from happening, but it's not too annoying, is an excellent design and works well. We've got an extra cupboard back and the kitchen smells fresher.4

Great bin, but can't find bags that fitAnonymous reviewerThis is a great bin; it has a soft close lid and the shape means it does not stick out. BUT I cannot find bags to fit. We bought 50L (the size of the bin) but they are not wide enough. We then tried 90L and bigger, but none fit across the width as it's oblong rather than round or square. We have to use huge dustbin sacks which are bulky. I hoped Ikea would sell bags to fit but they do not :(3

Rubbish bin Anonymous reviewerIKEA should discontinue this product. Like many other reviewers, my Knockla bin broke shortly after the guarantee expired. The pedal just snapped off, so I now have a useless pile of plastic to throw away. A waste of money and not at all sustainable. IKEA, please test your products properly. They shouldn't break so easily. 1

Cons: large aperture makes it difficult to find bin liners. The perimeter is around 144cm, making many 50l bags too small to fit. Check your sizing!4

It is very handy to have the double-compartment, as I am into segregating my rubbish. The pedal works well too. I'm very happy with it and glad that I purchased it.5
