Bad battery and connectionAnonymous reviewerThese sensors seem to be using a lot of battery, I've got 5, Two of them seem to be doing better than others showing about 95% battery after about two weeks, one has dropped to 89% and the other 2 are at 91%. Note these are using the Ikea rechargeable batteries.
My Thread network should be good too, with one Apple TV, and two HomePods mini's, and many thread based smart plugs around the house. The water sensors I believe are using a lot battery as they constantly seem to be connecting and disconnecting. I will update again if a firmware update or something resolves the issue,
I really was hoping not to spend the money on say the Aqara sensors but they need to be reliable.
I will say the Bilresa smart dual buttons I have are working fantastically.2
Works with Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1Anonymous reviewerI bought three of these and they connected to my Home Assistant setup very easily. It was straightforward to set up automations to alert me of leaks and when the batteries need replacing. Be aware that these are 'Matter over Thread' so you do need a Thread border router such as the ZBT-1 or ZBT-2 - they will not connect over WiFi or Zigbee.5
Works perfectly.Anonymous reviewerConnected to Apple Home without any issues. Updated firmware, again without any issues. Never gone off line.
Tested on a plate of water, worked as it should.
Placed where I wanted it and hopefully will never hear it again.5
Unresponsive over MatterAnonymous reviewerThe KLIPPBOK water leakage sensor is a great addition to the smart home lineup the build construction is very good for the price
I currently have 3 KLIPPBOK water leakage sensors all setup over matter in HomeKit when first pairing they worked fairly well they support firmware updated via HomeKit which is a great feature meaning you no longer need the Ikea hub or app which for me is great as long as you have another matter hub such as a HomePod, however all 3 devices go unresponsive in HomeKit every time you go into them they have been updated to the latest firmware but still show unresponsive however they do work so testing them with water they do alert so it must be something to do with timeout threshold in HomeKit would be good to fix removing and reading them doesn’t sort it and Ikea customer care can’t help so hopefully the next firmware revision will sort them - the previous version of the water leakage sensor worked flawlessly over matter in HomeKit 2
Great Addition to any Smart Home (integrates well, too!)Anonymous reviewerThe KLIPPBOK water leakage sensor works perfectly as intended and immediately recognises water when placed in a suitable environment.
Easily connects to the IKEA Home smart app, which maintains an activity log (including time and date) when water was detected - the app also allows you to send a notification and/or change the state of connected IKEA smart bulbs (turn on, off, change colour or dim) when water is detected.
Using the Matter integration, you are also able to connect the sensor to Home Assistant which pulls through the states for Water leak, Firmware, Battery, Battery type and Battery voltage. These states updated immediately when tested and could easily be included in any automations etc. When added to Google Home, the sensor updates ‘No Leak’ or ‘Leak’ but does not show the activity log and can be slow to update once clear.5
