We launched KLIPPAN sofa in the 1980s and it’s still a favourite. It's comfortable, fits almost everywhere and has many covers to choose from. A modern and timeless classic!

Product details

Durable metal springs in the seat give the sofa a springy comfort, allowing you to sit, relax and enjoy it for many years.

The fixed Bomstad cover is made of a durable material that is both smooth and strong. The material consists of polyester and cotton and has a protective coating of polyurethane.

The cover is easy to keep clean as it can be wiped with a sponge dampened with water or a mild detergent.

  • This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 50,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist colour fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This seating furniture is tested and complies with relevant strength and durability standards. The tests simulate typical usage of the product and are based on use by persons weighing up to 110 kg.

Avoid. Most uncomfortable sofa you can haveAnonymous reviewerThe best use for this sofa is in an area where nobody sits for more than a few mins. In your living room, this is probably the most uncomfortable sofa you can have. The backrest is very low and at a very steep angle. You cannot sit with your back rested because it is only enough to support your lower back. If you're sitting watching TV, your back will start to ache, and so will your legs because you can't use a footstool (because your back has no support). We have been incredibly frustrated with this sofa since we bought it. We were on a budget so this felt fine but trying to change it asap now. Avoid unless you're planning to put this in an office lobby.2
Very disappointing Anonymous reviewerI’ve had this sofa for around four months now and it already looks tired. The seat at the side I mostly use has become sunken and the covering has stretched beyond what was expected. The main problem is with the foam covering the wooden back panel which has become so compressed that it now offers absolutely no support. Impossible to recommend this sofa which is already looking worn out and has rapidly become uncomfortable to sit on. I suspect I’ll be replacing this very soon which is a huge disappointment from a company proudly stating its environmental and sustainable credentials. 2

What is coated fabric?

If you want a leather feel and an easy-care surface, coated fabric is a durable alternative – often at a lower price. We use fabric made of recycled polyester and have begun a transition from fossil-based to renewable material in the coating. Dimethylformamide (DMF) is a solvent that’s common in production, but since 2016 we’re instead using a water-based solvent.
