Fab sofa, bad fabricAnonymous reviewerThe sofa is comfortable and robust. The beige Tresund fabric feels industrial and rough. It is not comfortable and very disappointing. Its very rough and takes conmfort away from the sofa. I am having to buy new covers from a Chinese site to cover it.
I had the same sofa years ago with soft white cotton covers that were wonderful. Its such a shame that ikea,have sacrificed quality for a cheaper fabric that clearly misses the mark.

Solid and comfortableAnonymous reviewerOnce the sofa was delivered it was an easy enough job for my daughter in law and I to assemble it. It is a very solid and stable construction. once it was assembled and all the cushions and covers were on in fitted just fine in its designated spot. The sofa is extremely comfortable and it feels sturdy enough to last for decades. It is also large enough to fall asleep on, stretched out and snoring (me, not the sofa). If the KIVIK sofa came in a two seater version we would definitely buy another one to go with this one.

Rock Solid Cushions And No Way Of Returning SofaAnonymous reviewerI contacted IIKEA customer service today to double check that the collection (2nd time booked) of a faulty KIVIK sofa was going to take place today and was told that this collection WASN'T going to take place as ARCT 'hadn't received the paperwork'. This was despite receiving confirmation of the collection by text and via my IKEA account and phoning Customer Service yesterday and being told the collection would definitely go ahead. I have now been forced to book a THIRD collection slot for Saturday 03/01/2026 I have had to therefore go to my chemotherapy session alone today as my Husband had to be here for the collection team. I asked the customer service representative what I should do if the 3rd collection failed and unbelievably they said 'just write it off'. By that I assume they meant that I should just give up and accept the financial loss of £610. I asked if IKEA had a complaints procedure and was told they have a 'feedback form on the website and comments are read'. Unreal!
Good sofaAnonymous reviewerNice sofa was easy to assemble. Best thing is my dogs toys don't fit underneath, which is one of the reasons I chose this model. Downside - the covers are a very difficult to get onto the arms, the material is not very stretchy and they were hard to get on properly. I have blisters on my fingers from one of them, dont know if the size was a bit out but one of them took me almost an hour to get it to fit and not properly its a bit off. I will need to get the dog fur off of it more regularly too I think as everything seems to stick to it. Apart from that happy with it

came out smart and respectable! I found the instructions lacked orientation detail and could provide a lot more help. The covering material is fiddly to stretch over but achievable with help. I would recommend two people attempting assembly . I love the shape of the finished item and functionality, especially with the box style arms. Overall a great look for a competitive price.

The most uncomfortable sofaAnonymous reviewerThis is by far the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever sat on. It caused me severe upper back pain, which I’ve never experienced before. The sofa feels poorly built and it’s the worst piece of furniture I’ve owned.

Ikea NightmareAnonymous reviewerDon't buy this sofa - out of stock! Classic IKEA chaos: zero communication, abysmal service. I did my research and ordered the Kivik sofa and footstool for delivery. Got a delivery date and time, but nothing showed up. When I called, I was told the sofa frame is out of stock - after I already received the covers! Customer service couldn’t say when (or if) it will be back.
I was excited for this sofa, but now I’ll never shop with IKEA again. I expect compensation for this and for Ikea to make this right.
