KIVIK 1-seat sofa-bed is a snug and easy-to-place sofa during the day – and simple to make into a comfortable bed at night.
The sofa-bed has a compact design that allows you to fit both an extra seat and overnight guests in a small area.
The seat cushions made of pocket springs, high-resilience foam and polyester fibre mould to your body and provide firm support and comfortable softness, both when sitting up and lying down.
The seat and back cushions are used to create the bed, which means they are out of the way when the sofa is transformed into a sleeping space.

BrilliantAnonymous reviewerDon't know what all the negative reviews was about at all, im a wheelchair user, sat on the sofa and assembled all the covers on the chair and the cushions with no issues at all, within the same time it takes to make a cuppa tea it was ready to use. Comfortable to sit on, comfortable to lay on if you don't lay with your head right up to the back of the chair you don't even feel the bar at all, and as a person who loves his cake and isn't light weight I have no issues with this at all what so ever, would recommend to anyone who wants to either save space or give a guest something other than a sofa to lay on and it's proper single bed sized not a stick insect perch

Kivik sofa bedAnonymous reviewerHaving bought the Kivik 3 seater sofa in leather I was looking for a chair in the same range and this was the only real option.
The sofa bed , as a chair is very comfortable, nice wide deep seat and comfortable back.
Not had occasion to use it as a bed yet.
I found the colour options limited and the range is lacking an armchair, would have liked a black leather option. Not everyone wants or has the room for a big curved sofa unit, my room is just a few inches too small to fit the kivik one in. Whilst you can design your own online the modular units are missing a single seat unit after the curve
Overall though, as ever with ikea, value for money

This sofa bed was super easy to assemble (covers etc fit well then and now) and is also really attractive with the lovely fabric covers.
With a large family of tall adult children the (long and wide) size is valued, and every single person who has slept on it finds it really comfortable, firm without being too hard.
Most visitors have used it for a single night, but some have slept on it for multiple night stays and yes, still find it a comfortable sleep.

DisappointingAnonymous reviewerThe idea was ok, works well in the space but consistently poor reports from all overnight guests! Comfy as a chair but all body types found it uncomfortable to sleep on, complaining about the join in the cushions being painful.
Also very very heavy to move around and when in sleep mode very low to the ground
Extremely uncomfortable sleepAnonymous reviewerWell built and sturdy, but extremely uncomfortable to sleep on even for one night. It has a weird angle in the middle where the two parts slide out and it has broken my back after 2 nights. Even putting another mattress on top did not fix it.
Also, insanely expensive for what it is.
