Unnecessary metal bars?Anonymous reviewerI see the brackets are needed and worked very well to attach the tabletop to the shelf unit, but these bars are not needed. Will Ikea take them back? Such a waste and expensive too for two small brackets.

Table supports Anonymous reviewerThese are great for attaching a table top to the kallax units and you only need legs at the front which makes it easier to get stuff out without legs at the back I have two sets and put the table tops on landscape which gives me a lovely long work surface for my crafting would love ones that are able to fold the table top away

Split pack?Anonymous reviewerThe 2 fittings worked well to fit the desk top to the shelf unit but as didn't need the metal bars, seemed pricey for 2 brackets and I wonder how many of those bars are lying in people's houses or binned as unnecessary. Maybe IKEA should split into 2 separate packs.

Ridiculously difficult to useAnonymous reviewerThis is actually a one star review but the system won't allow me to rate it as such. Bought the Kallax shelf unit and the attached desk for my child's room. The brackets have to be drilled into the Kallax shelf and can be seen (which is so ugly). The biggest problem is that the bracket screws do not fit properly and are impossible to tighten. So right now, the desk is just resting on the shelves with the brackets. Two shelves are ruined with drilling holes, and the desk cannot be used because it is not fixed. So disappointed in this quality. Also, customer service did not help. They basically said they could do nothing to assist. Absolutely disappointing service.
