Lovely chairsAnonymous reviewerWe already had 2 of these chairs, so instead wasting money on 4 new chairs instead we bought these instead. Lovely chairs. 5
Poor Quality after Months of UseAnonymous reviewerBought these chairs in February 2025. They are now 5 months old and they are very wobbly despite not even being used on a daily basis for the last 3 months. The dining chairs we replaced were over 10 years old and still solid as a rock, so I’m disappointed with these. Cost saving measures yet again have hindered the quality of the furniture even though the price has increased considerably. 2
Poor quality seatsAnonymous reviewerI ordered 6 white Ingolf chairs to replace my similar looking old dining room chairs. I paid for next day delivery and the chairs were delivered on time. The chairs were well packaged so I was surprised to find one of the chair seats was badly damaged with a chunk missing from the top font edge. The chair legs and back are solid wood but the seat itself is fibreboard and not very good quality. Rather than drive a round trip of over 60 miles to get the seat replaced we managed to reuse the seats from the dining chairs we were replacing, these seats were solid wood so better quality. We should not have had to do this, the seats should have all been delivered undamaged. I'd think twice before buying anything from IKEA again. The products used to be much better quality.2
Unfold chsirsAnonymous reviewerReally solid heavy chairs which are comfortable to sit on. Good quality purchase, very pleased with them 5

Ingolf ChairAnonymous reviewerAdditional chair purchased to go with our existing Ingolf chairs for the dining table. Good quality and easy to assemble.5
Excellent furniture Anonymous reviewerGreat looking 5
Ingolf chairs - poor qualityAnonymous reviewerBoth chairs damaged upon arrival. Ikea acknowledged my complaint on 19th October and promised to make contact within the next two days. I’ve heard nothing since. 1
Appalling qualityAnonymous reviewerI bought 4 chairs together, one had cracks in the seat. I took this back and the replacement chair wobbled when assembled.
That means out of 5 chairs, 2 had defects. A 40% defect rate is appalling by any standard you care to measure by. I have wasted a great deal of my time assembling these and taking them back, not to mean fuel costs.1
Very sturdy Anonymous reviewerSolid and easy to assemble 5
Strong chairAnonymous reviewerStraight back chair helps with posture. It’s a bit heavy but still a great chair look5
Really attractive chairAnonymous reviewerI bought this chair to complete a small work station. the chair is comfortable and attractive I am really happy with it5
Just what was neededAnonymous reviewerGreat chair, nice wide seat pad and very sturdy. Very straight forward to put together and looks great at my dressing table5
GOOD VALUEAnonymous reviewerSo great to be able to purchase a single chair as most come in pairs. Good solid construction and even I could put it together without tears!5
Comfortable supportive chairAnonymous reviewerThese chairs are comfortable with or without a chair pad, and the back is supportive. I have four as dining chairs but a further one at my desk. They are stylish and look great too.5
Good, but used to be much better!Anonymous reviewerBought one black Ingolf recently to complement a set of five we had from a few years ago. We also bought a couple of white ingolf more recently.
First of all, it *is* great that IKEA keeps their lines of furniture around for a long time generally, making it possible to add pieces of furniture as and when. Thanks!
However, in this case, we discovered that the design has changed a fair bit, maybe a year or two or so ago, as far as we can tell from our purchases. The way the chair is assembled has changed completely (making it possible to ship in a much smaller box), it is slightly smaller, with a less satisfying, less curved back (one would not notice unless comparing side by side), the paint is less glossy, and the chairs are *much* lighter, about 4 kg compared with about 6 kg for the old ones. Also, some metal parts for assembly has been replaced by plastic ones of a type that tends to crack (but IKEA has helpfully sent spares for free in the past).
All in all, used to be better!3
Dreadful chairs, that look terrible after a few months.Anonymous reviewerThe paint goes sticky after a few weeks, it stains and chips. Waste of money. These are not all solid wood either. It’s a combination of mdf and wood. Very disappointed.1
