Care

Nice jar with smelly corkAnonymous reviewerThe jar is nice and the idea of an ecological lid from cork is great. However, after unpacking the lid from the plastic film I noticed an unpleasant smell. I thought it will go away with time, but it never did! I tried washing it with dish soap, but the smell is still there, and when the lid stays on - the smell goes into the water. Not sure if anyone else has this problem...3

Pouring liquid takes a long time due to the combination of a thick lid and a narrow opening. Additionally, the glass is very thin, so be cautious when using it, as it can easily break if it comes into firm contact with the table. ( It looks good in terms of appearance)2

Material

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
