Good pull out Sofa bed …… butAnonymous reviewerGenerally we are pleased with our sofa bed but we feel that it could have been a little bit more easier to assemble. The instructions are generally ok but putting the cover on was a lesson in two people having to become contortionist’s. It really could do with being just a little bit more generous as even now, nearly 6 months after we assembled the bed there is still a ridge across the material even though we have put it on & off quite a few times over the summer when the family visited us.

I’m wondering if some of the other reviews accidentally put the sofa cushion on back to front and that’s what caused it to slope? Or they just had a faulty one as ours it perfect 👌 would definitely recommend 😀
‘Smaller’ sofa bedsAnonymous reviewerThere are less models to choose from if you haven’t got room for a three seater or a modular sofa. I was replacing a much older two seater and chose the Hyltarp primarily on size, although it is slightly bigger, colour and number of seat cushions.
So it’s in and it fits! Just when turned into a bed.. it looks great, it’s really comfortable, apparently so is the bed, and the functionality of getting the bed out is very good. You do have to find somewhere for the seat cushions, but it’s fine for limited nights.
My surprise was that I can actually stretch out on it as a sofa even though the size difference, from my old one, is quite small. So it’s a genuine improvement.
I’m very glad I took the leap.

Glad I brought thisAnonymous reviewerAfter reading some reviews, I was nearly put off buying this. I’m in a basement flat, and needed a sofa bed that came flat packed. The bed part is very comfortable, and easy to pull out. The sofa part is firm like others have said, but for me it’s fine and so much better than my squishy sofa before. All in all I love it and glad I got it. I brought it in grey. My only small moan would be that the main cushion you sit on, is all one piece, and quite heavy when you need to move it to pull the bed out. Fine for me, but some people would struggle with this I think. Anyway I’m happy, thanks IKEA

Trust the many "too firm" reviews!Anonymous reviewerWe too went to the showroom and were sold by the 3 seater version which other reviewers noted also, was a dream to sit on. We tried the 2 seater sofabed version and yes it was a little firmer but could see no real difference in the seat cussion thickness so thought it would eventually soften down (thinking presumably the more it is sat on the softer it would become.) While it looks very elegant is still has very little give when you sit on it. Am genuinely tempted to find a replacement foam from somewhere to emulate the feel of sinking into the showroom version of the sofa. Such a shame this will be an additional cost to an altready expensive sofa down the line, it feels like if we do this it is more of a fix than a hack for this sofa. It ticks most of the boxes for our needs, the sofabed mechanism is stong and stable but its a bit of a faff to take off all the cussions to unfold it then put them all back on, especially the large one piece sofa seat.
Looks lovely but seat cushion could be improvedAnonymous reviewerWe have been sleeping on this during works at our house and are happy with it in principle. The look is fab. However, I agree with the other review that the seat cushion is slanted and we feel like we are going to fall off. We thought this would improve and it sadly hasn't as it is quite firm. I am thinking of having another sofa cushion made but a total shame. Please help ikea! Thank you

Looks nice but not comfortable Anonymous reviewerThe seat is slanted and curved meaning that you feel as if you're sliding off the sofa when seated. It is also quite firm and this has not improved in the year that I've used the sofa. It would have been nice for it to have storage as well. I like the look and the colour of it and it fits the space I had, so could not return it at the time hoping it would get better.

The side arm rests are quite low.
The cover with the bottom untucked looks bad. Would've been good if you could button the loose ends to the bottom of the sofa.
The seat itself is narrow so you can't really lay down comfortably or when sharing the sofa with someone else.
As a bed however it does very well.

I didn't think it would come in 5 box's Anonymous reviewerI ordered this on the understanding that for a fee of £49.00 the delivery men would build it, this I added to my order only to find to my horror on the day of delivery we were informed that they do not do this service in our area,so me and my husband both oap's where left with 5 boxes and a mattress to try and sort out ,it is not easy to put together so just be aware of this.
