Poor Curtain hooks Anonymous reviewerWe’ve had many gazebos from IKEA as they have always been great value for money. This newer design, although a little more expensive than the previous design is much better and addressed some of the previous flaws - less areas of stress prone to ripping the roof fabric. However, the curtain hooks are a terrible design. The hook is too shallow to hold the curtain and any slight breeze the curtain comes unhooked. They are also very brittle and snap which now means part of the curtain can’t hang properly. I’m not sure if replacement hooks can be bought but to replace them would mean removing the roof fabric and pretty much deconstructing the frame as inserting the hooks comes at midway build. Moving forward, may I suggest addressing the poor hooks and maybe go back to the Velcro loops that have been on previous models as it would negate perishing and brittleness in plastic parts. 4
GreatAnonymous reviewerWe’ve had this Gazebo up for more than two years now and the frame is as good as new. Perhaps unsurprisingly the nylon cover deteriorates over time and becomes brittle and splits but easily replaced. I’ve taken the precaution of removing the cover when storms have been forecast and occasionally tightening all the bolts 5
Good ... but there are flaws in the design.Anonymous reviewerOverall very sturdy ... however be aware that the instructions are not clear and look like they have been made by someone who hasn't ever built a Himmelso Gazebo. The one major component failing is the use of Ikea's custom curtain hooks, which constantly fail and leave the curtains hanging in the breeze ! Save yourself a lot of hassle and buy a couple of packs of Swish curtain hooks and use those instead. Also, the metal channels for the side curtains can be "sticky" where there are slight imperfections in the metal work. 4
Good gazeboAnonymous reviewerThis is the best and sturdiest gazebo we’ve ever had.5
There is an Error in instructionsAnonymous reviewerPage 21 shows setting the roof structure supports to the longest length, followed by on Page 28 fit cover then adjust roof structure supports to shortest length to tighten the canopy. these instructions need to be reversed; otherwise the roof supports are so long that the canopy is extremely difficult tp attach to the frame.!4
Not happy at allAnonymous reviewerThe overall product is great well made good to build the biggest upset for me is it holds no rain gazebos are meant to be able to relax ect out side in all weathers this holds no rain at all when in England do we have light rain???? A lot of money for something just to look good in ur garden for this amount I expect to be kept dry1
Great value for money.Anonymous reviewerIt was fairly straightforward to assemble and has proven to be a valuable addition to the garden - offering shelter from both the rain and sun - working outside is now a regular occurrence!5
Love it.Anonymous reviewerIt’s perfect for my garden. Easy to assemble, The quality is great Prices even better….5
easy buildAnonymous reviewerEasy to build, nice and sturdy. There were no problems with the build which took just the wife and myself. We took it easy and it took around 3 1/2hrs to do. The only hard part was hanging the curtains, the hooks were fiddly and needed some force to get together. There no problems although the instructions for the curtains were a bit vague and took a bit of a think. We would suggest the designer of the curtain hook system be made to assemble a thousand or so, they might come up with a friendlier to the fingers system.5
Shoddy workmanship and poor designAnonymous reviewerGood looking gazebo but one of the bolt holes for the roof truss was only partially predrilled and the design requires two entire sections of the frame to elevate themselves whilst you secure them in two sections, three metres apart. Whilst we were assembling it, one of the sections twisted slightly and the metal frame split. One of the other reviewers was a builder and he may have access to equipment that can support the sections whilst you're fitting them, but I only had two short step ladders which, even with a helper, made it very difficult.1
ExcellentAnonymous reviewerVery sturdy well made gazebo . Excellent quality , easy to follow instructions and assembly .
Not yet tested in the rain but looks robust
