NICE ONE !Anonymous reviewerUnlike other reviewers we have looked after our lovely Himmelso. It's firmly screwed down, we take the canvas off at the end of the season, it is definitely rain resistant and we have purchased 3 spare covers. It has survived 2 seasons at our busy holiday gite in the south of France, very sunny, very hot and exciting thunderstorms. It still looks as new and we know it will still be going strong for the next 2 seasons. The secret is - follow the IKEA instructions and it will last.5
Do not buy shockingAnonymous reviewerBrought for party gazebo holds NO sort of rain my whole new patio set wrecked as not waterproof at all, a lot of money for no protection at all , what gazebo isn’t waterproof?????? What’s the point of it, no help from Ikea at all as it states light rain, we live in the uk, we don’t have light rain,
Expensive item looks good but that’s all carnt even enjoy sitting outside in the rain 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡1
Warped in under a yearAnonymous reviewerSo gutted that this has completely warped and bent in the wind during the winter. It took us soooo long to put it up in July and the metal joints have bent it’s now very wobbly. Really don’t recommend this product as it is pretty expensive, hard to put up and then dies within a year. Massive waste of time and energy 1
Sturdy at first...Anonymous reviewerAt first this looked brilliant. Bought two, for reasons. The joins on the cross beams seemed like a weak point when putting it up, but in general I was happy. Looked good, worked well. Then the canopies started to degrade and rip. This was only 6 months in. Bought new canopies. Then a storm came and the weak joins in the cross beams revealed themselves, as predicted. This is 1 year in. Bent right out of shape. Hey- that's ok, I can buy new cross beams, right? NO. Buy a whole new gazebo, or nothing. Ikea only do tiny part replacements... so much for being green. So I bin the whole lot, and get a whole new one? Not likely. 3
Shame about the canopy.Anonymous reviewerThe canopy is very weak, such a shame as the rest is a great build.
Canopy ripped easily after 1st season, but because it was a non seam area , I didn't bother th return as neglect would have been suggested. Truth is, I used the thin end of a nicely rounded broom, to help remove it for winter. I decided to put a patch on,for a repair.
2nd season...the velcro ties used to secure to poles, started leaking at the sticking.
It really is such a shame, as the rest is built really well.
Bottom line is, we have know choice but to buy a new canopy for season 3. Fi gers crossed its of better quality now.3
Canopy ripped open on seam after 2 seasons and no replacement available to buyAnonymous reviewerThis is a very smart looking and functional gazebo when the canopy is new. My canopy ripped a large gape - about 50cm along the seam after a couple of years.
I’d have given it full marks if the canopy was available to purchase to replace it after a few seasons. I keep checking and the canopy is never in stock.
Had I known the replacement canopy will never be in stock I would have bought the extra canopy when I bought the gazebo. Even better if the replacement canopy was coming already in the set…
I can’t comment on assembly because I had a handyman putting it up for us- he did it on his own in no time and he charged us a fortune for this job!😂
If you want this gazebo to last longer maybe you need to remove the canopy for winter months so it’s not exposed to elements. Canopy fabric is very thin and it’ll rip eventually- wind and rain and harsh sun slowly damaging thin fabric. Also overstretching canopy fabric when removing for winter and then putting back on- it will eventually rip.2
Very sturdyAnonymous reviewerLooked everywhere for a strong gazebo this has sturdy aluminium legs and cross beams do follow the instructions don't fit the corner roof struts before fitting the cover once cover is on the fit corner struts to main body took me an hour though am tradesman. Two people can assemble it more would make it easier.5
Impressed so far!Anonymous reviewerOnly just purchased so cannot comment on durability but this seems so strong and sturdy. It’s actually taller than most other gazebos too. The roof was a really tight fit and took two strong men on ladders to pull and stretch it over the final edge. 4 stars as quite a complicated build.4
