someone needs to raise the issue of the wrong part.Anonymous reviewerI have two of these. But it's quite apparent that the 70cm central framework is being shipped out with these 45cm versions.
The wire frame buckles into a 'C' shape, this twists the hook for the pendant clip and forces it to mangle your light source.
I REPEAT - IKEA IS PUTING THE 70cm FRAME INTO THE 45cm PACKAGING!!!
Same problem as every other reviewAnonymous reviewerAs everyone has noted, the wire inside is far too long. Getting it inside the shade without ripping it is impossible, and then getting it to hang straight while the wire pushes it sideways is your next mission impossible. Again, as others have noted, these shades are usually a fool proof and inexpensive way to have a nice aesthetic above your head with good light diffusion. Somehow Ikea have made this a complicated and frustrating item. Genuinely baffled about how this got through quality control.
Cheap Rubbish - So Much Brand DamageAnonymous reviewerSame problem as other reviews, would not hang straight because the wire insert is way too big. Had to use pliers to bend the wire holder at the top of the insert to even get close a straight look.
I find it hard to believe how/why IKEA let themselves down like this. The deficiencies in this product have been very well documented previously by many customers, yet IKEA continue to sell it !.
This kind of lampshade has been around for decades, how hard can it be to get it right ? I got this as a simple add on to about £100 of purchases. It is simply annoying, and damages the IKEA brand so much by taking their customers for fools.
Please don't tell me to reach out to customer services, because I have neither the time nor inclination.
Annoying and not worth the time, even the £2.50 price. I won't be back anytime soon.

I’ve had these in the past and they have been great but recently the design seems to have changed and the metal support which sits inside to hold its shape is now really long and sits bent inside the fitting. Eventually it gave way and the metal support snapped and then went through the lamp shade.

Doesn’t Hang StraightAnonymous reviewerLoved the original Regolit lamp shades (which seem to have been discontinued?) and bought these instead for our new house. Unlike the old version, the central wire is curved, causing the shade to hang lopsided. The Regolit’s had straight wires and were easier to hang, why mess with a good thing?
Nice shade but strange inner frameAnonymous reviewerBecause the frame bends inside the shade, the top of the frame is at an angle and we needed to bend it with pliers to get the wire for the light to be level to get the shade to hang correctly. No way round this other than bending the frame and hoping it doesn't snap!
If you can get it to fit and hang correctly its a good value nice shade, if not it's just money wasted.
