Practical and good qualityAnonymous reviewerVery useful and compact. Easy to assemble.5
Great BedAnonymous reviewerBought this bed for my son, great, bed, very robust.5
Ingenious designAnonymous reviewerWe bought this because we currently have an ok single mattress but long-term want a small double.
I had my doubts about this bed’s stability, and have found it very solid. Wonderful to have a solid wood frame. Putting it together was easy, even fun, just took a few hours.
The drawers are stable. Turns out I’m not using them as nightstands as planned because I prefer something higher.5
Good material and concept but the mattress won't fitAnonymous reviewerThe ikea matress or any other standard double or king size mattress doesn't fit the length of the bed. Eventhough the width is adjustable to fit any of those sizes, the other side is too small.3
Great bedAnonymous reviewerIn single mode, it measures half the size of a UK double. Some reviewers appear to mistakenly believe it is equivalent to two singles. Please refer to the dimensions provided. 5
DaybedAnonymous reviewerIt’s a lovely daybed and completely exceeded my expectations.4
Does not fit 2 standard single mattressesAnonymous reviewerI don’t know what kind of mattress it fits but it definitely doesn’t fit 2 standard single mattresses. A bit frustrating after spending 3 hours to build it. I would return but i don’t want to spend another 3 hours to dismantle it. Wasted my money and my time with this purchase. Hopefully they will amend the measurements!!1
Great bed, but it does NOT fit 2 standard singlesAnonymous reviewerI just put this together, took about 3 hours, it's pretty simple and the instructions are clear. It's a great design, with a massive flaw - 2 standard singles is 180cm width, but extended, the space available for a mattress insert is around 177cm. So my 2 identical, standard single mattresses do not fit properly, there's overhang. I would really like to know from Ikea what has happened here with the design. It has been noted elsewhere and it seems like an oversight.
Additionally, as someone else mentioned, the black plastic dowels holding the slats are beyond useless, use wood screws instead or watch the extending section fall apart every other time you use it! That's an easy mod, but the width issue is more concerning. 3
Nice solid wood but a couple of design flawsAnonymous reviewerI knew I wanted a solid wood bed and didnt know if I wanted a single, small double or double so I thought this bed ticked all the boxes and I have all my options open with the extendable feature.
I was also very impressed with the underbed draws and built in bed side table - I liked how they weren't attached to the bed and just are wheeled under as I have had problems before with divan beds that have had wooden draws that became stiff and hard to pull out - no chance of that happening with this bed.
The major downside to this bed is the bed slats. On end of each of the slat is attached using a flimsy plastic dowell and the other end uses screws that have too small of an head so they fall through the hole and the slats end up falling through bed.
The screws should have a bigger head for more grip. Such a small oversight with massive implications to the product!
I was thinking I could fix this by replacing plastic dowels with screws and the other screws with bigger heads.3
BedAnonymous reviewerVery sturdy easy to assemble 5
Mixed feelingsAnonymous reviewerLove the look but… mattress don’t fit property… so so disappointed! 2
Good sturdy bedAnonymous reviewerGood sturdy bed. Easy to assemble. 5
Nice sturdy bedAnonymous reviewerSturdy bed, easy to build, it works well open or close, you cannot tell any gap while sleeping. Coming raw give you the option to paint it , decorate it etc. 5
Great sturdy spare bedAnonymous reviewerWe bought this bed to replace the "Utaker" stacking beds as they had no storage, were harder to convert to a double and didn't look as good (I also turned the Utaker side panels into long shelves!)
We are very pleased with this bed, it's easy to pull out, the slats are sturdy and the storage is plenty for all the spare bedding and more!
We opted to try and use the 80x200 mattresses we had from the Utaker on this bed (even though this bed is a standard single (perfect for upgrading in the future)!) and they work quite well for now. They overhang a small amount, but don't slide around. When in single mode, they are too narrow so we filled one side with the spare pillows, when pulled out, you can choose to pull it out as much or little as needed, so we only pull it out enough to hold both of our 80x200 mattresses.
The drawers have small wheels so are easy to pull out too
Construction was easy, I built it myself, though it took a couple of hours, and a lot of space!5
