Doesn't work straigh out of the box.Anonymous reviewerAs with previous reviewers, door open/close sensor doesn't work and this is with brand new unit. Poor quality for such an expensive kit1
Very _very_ poor value for money.Anonymous reviewerNever thought to check that a top line microwave would not have a turntable but there you go. Take your pick - burnt food or raw food. Also the much vaunted forced air system does not appear to work - gouts of hot steamy air when you open the door. To cap it all, you don't get anything like a useable manual for this complex piece of equipment, so the recent F230 that appeared on the readout, with subsequent lack of function, is complete mumbo-jumbo. NOT recommended.1
Looks really smartAnonymous reviewerThis is easy to use and easily converts from an oven to a microwave. You can control the power of the microwave that cooks at industrial speed when you are in a hurry. Have had no issues. It’s 4 years old, going strong. Well used by teenagers and it’s still in mint condition. Really pleased with it5
Lovely three in one - oven, microwave & grillAnonymous reviewerPerfectly matches the full sized oven from the same collection. Super spacious microwave and really easy to clean. Handy bottom hung door. Quick commands for the microwave function. Also has a potent grill and oven, which I use less often than the microwave setting. Easy to change the power level on the microwave from 1000W down to 200W, which I seldom use for melting butter without overheating & splitting and to soften ice-cream straight out of the freezer. I also like the fact that, unless it's in use, there are no LED displays shining on my face :-)5
Glass spacer bar has crackedAnonymous reviewerThe glass spacer bar has cracked that is fitted to fill the void in the cabinet. Is it possible to get a replacement.4
Has never workedAnonymous reviewerError code F130. Item has never worked and it is proving impossible to get a replacement from IKEA. Will think again before buying appliances from IKEA.1
Terrible designAnonymous reviewerThe door has 2 plastic lugs, snapped off in no time. Glued them back on too many times. Only a horrible blob of super glue remains. Microwave doesn’t work now. Oven fan doesn’t come on because it thinks the door is open. The lights behind the controls faded and can’t see settings. Taking it to the dump this afternoon. Total waste of £650.1
Major design faultAnonymous reviewerThere 2 lugs on the door that too flimsy and are easy to snap off, rendering the microwave out of action, I visited IKEA recently and both have been snapped off in the store display, not very good for a £650 product, can super glued back on but a pain.3
Major design faultAnonymous reviewerThe microwave and oven are fine, but there is 2 lugs on the door made of plastic, I have caught these on three occasions and they have snapped off making the microwave inactive, and if you shut the door a rocker switch click shut, you then have to take it out of the cupboard remove the top cover and reset the rocker switch, glue the lug back on, not the best design for nearly £6502
Finsmakare combi-ovenAnonymous reviewerIts already been stated that the microwave doesn't have a turntable facility which I think it could easily have. That said, another issue is the grill, or the ability to grill. Most grills have a grill pan, easily removable and with handles. This oven does not. It requires you to use one of the oven trays and an oven rack above it to simulate a grill pan. Plus the grill only works with the door shut. I get that for the turbo feature or other oven style cooking, but basic grilling, eg cheese on toast? Let alone transferring a pan from the hob to the grill to brown something. I have to have the door shut so the pan handle becomes red hot. This feels like a style over substance design a bit for me. Maybe I'm just an old fashioned cook.3

Finsmakare Microwave ☹️Anonymous reviewerThe microwave doesn’t turn, you have to manually turn the food you are cooking every 20 seconds!1
Great ovenAnonymous reviewerMy autistic son loves this oven it does everything he needs. It is functional and cooks the food better than our previous oven. I highly recommend this oven for its preset functions and ease of use. Once again Ikea has hit the mark, easy to use and looks great.5
Not a good productAnonymous reviewerHad this now for about 6 weeks and cannot use it as everytime we try we get a error code. Engineer came out and repair but then the same error codes comes up after so it cznt be used.1
Good value and warranty .Plenty of features.Anonymous reviewerI had some problems with delivery but IKEA treated me fairly and all was resolved amicably. The microwave is quite fierce and localised compared to others I have had. The one curious feature is that the on/off icon is not illuminated and hard to see. You get used to where to tap to switch the whole thing on. Bizarre. Lots of features I will never use. Seems well built and finished. Saves me the space of a separate microwave.4

Kitchen appliances for the many

How can we best assist you in your cooking, without actually being in the kitchen? One way, is to make high quality appliances at prices that leave more money left for good ingredients. To make this happen, we’re working together with carefully selected suppliers – experts we feel are the best in their field at delivering what people need in their everyday. This allows us to offer fully equipped, functional kitchens, with appliances and all the other things you need, all in one place.

Creating good things becomes a whole lot easier when you work together. And when you do it with a good amount of trust and understanding, it becomes fun and interesting.

Aha-moments during the development

Bruno Lizotte, who works with product development at IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult, tells that the development of the kitchen appliances is done hand in hand together with the suppliers. “We have a lot of experience from life at home so we share our ideas and our knowledge to get the suppliers to see things from our perspective. Then we find solutions together to improve the life in and around the kitchen,” he says. In turn, the suppliers contribute with their expertise, for example hard facts on materials, technical solutions and innovations they have in the pipeline. “By being generous we learn from each other. It’s a way to challenge old truths about how things are supposed to be done. It usually leads to a couple of aha-moments for everyone involved,” notes Bruno.

Knowledge through home visits

Some of the knowledge that’s shared comes from IKEA home visits. It’s a method to see how people in different cultures live and manage with some of life’s ups and downs in their own homes. For example, we ask; what do you do in the kitchen, except cooking? How do you use the space? Do you have friends over? What would you like to improve? What are your hopes, dreams and wishes? “The insights we get from the visits are transferred to the people we work with so we can develop better products together, and create an easier life at home,” says Bruno.

Easier days in the heart of the home

Good kitchen appliances should fit with the rest of the kitchen and with the people who use them. We all have different needs, tastes and wallets. Some of us cook because we love to, some of us because we have to. That’s why a considerable amount of time in the development process is spent on creating a selection of durable products – in different styles, functions and price levels. And always with quality as the main focus. It means a whole deal of fine-tuning, trying ideas and choosing the ones that make most use for people. “Togetherness and enthusiasm are important words to us when we develop products. In short, it means to work with people that believe in the same cause as we do, but also to respect each other’s efforts. When we manage to live up to that, we can make a true difference and contribute to a better life at home for more people. That’s really something to aim for,” says Bruno.
