Pretty lampAnonymous reviewerIt's a great lamp, easy to insert the bulb and put together. However, somehow there's an incredible amount of dirt inside the actual lamp that I can see whenever it's switched on. The lamp was brand new inside packaging so I feel like quality control should be a bit better? Use the bulbs that IKEA recommends for the best results.

Nice little lampAnonymous reviewerI thought this was made of plastic but it's actually glass. It seems the display model was plastic to avoid damage. You can fit a candle bulb in it, you don't need a round one.
Poor Base DesignAnonymous reviewerThe actual glass ball is fine and the effect of a colour changing light bulb in it is pretty good. However, the all important base for the glass dome, with the retaining springs and the integrated light bulb holder, is badly designed and not secure enough, making the whole item rather unstable. For that reason, I would not use (nor recommend) this light on side tables. I have placed mine on the top of a book case which is secured to the wall, and therefore unlikely to accidentally easily nudge it over.

Rattly baseAnonymous reviewerThe base to the table lamp does not fit flush against the glass. Attaching the base to the glass is a nightmare too as cheap plastic screws are used. I have a blister from attempting to attach the base to the glass.

Lovely lightAnonymous reviewerI've had this lamp for just over a year and it has always worked really well until today when I went to switch it off and it won't switch off which I very annoying so I've had to unplug it and will have to get rid which is not the quality I would expect from ikea to have to replace it at just over a year old so bear this in mind when purchasing
Good item but flimsy glassAnonymous reviewerI’ve had to buy two of these as the glass is extremely thin and broke easy. Other than that, the lamp itself is nice and very easy to assemble. If it were possible it would be better to use a different material other than glass.

Minimalist lampAnonymous reviewerThis is a simple minimalist table/desk lamp and it uses LED lightbulbs sold separately. I was at IKEA with my kids and my tweenage son saw this and bought it with his own money because he liked it so much. For context, my son is not an impulse purchase type of guy, but he thought this was really nice and it fits his youtuber aesthetic. It's surprisingly durable, too. I've got some rascal little kids and it's survived their destructive attempts!

Material
What is glass?
Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
