Reviews

Bathroom mirrorVerified ReviewerRobust and easy to put together5
Poor quality and mounting fixes insufficientVerified ReviewerA big backward step in quality from the previous iteration of this cabinet that had glass shelves and much better hinges. There is a significant recess between the back of the cabinet and where it mounts to the wall, and the wall fixings supplied are completely inadequate. Having only mounting points in the top corners is a significant downside. Avoid this product.1
Great bathroom cabinetVerified ReviewerThis wall cabinet is lovely and tall, slimline yet elegant. It was easy and straight forward to assemble and I highly recommend this product.5
Great CabinetVerified ReviewerVery nice, good quality, very happy with it.5
Not soft closingVerified ReviewerNo idea why IKEA didn't supply soft closing hinges with that cupboard but two Hjalpa hinges did the job. No more slamming and mirror crack risk mitigated.4
Nice but no soft closeVerified ReviewerNo soft close hinges with this. Which I would of thought would be standard or at least the option to upgrade. Please tell me which ones are compatible?3
Fantastic unit but hinges awfulVerified ReviewerBought 2 of these with mirror doors to go in downstairs toilet. Look brilliant, made in Italy and really good finish but hinges are really badly made. Never come across this before but the screws get stuck in the mount to fit on wall unit making a usually simple task difficult. I think batch is faulty as can’t adjust them according to instructions. Was able to workaround and fit but 5 minutes took an hour. Other reviewer also mentioned these hinges should ideally be soft-close and I’d agree. Don’t know where people are getting the idea wall screws are included - there are 2 screws in pack but these are to join 2 units together and definitely not for the wall! You need to get suitable screws/plugs depending on the type of wall you have and this is clearly mentioned in the spec. Finally, if the hinges were the usual Ikea standard you would be able to easily adjust and and gap in the middle could be fixed - the hinges are the biggest problem with this unit. Other than that, great5
Mounting issue/ poor designVerified ReviewerI totally understand that you have to mount with correct wall fixings to fit to your wall type. I see that the design isn’t really fit for use. I can’t understand why you have mounting points only at the top corners and nothing for the bottom corners. This would aid the mounting and load distribution as the product is heavy to mount on plaster board walls. This coupled with rather stiff hinges that when opening places extra stress on the top fixing when opening the cabinet from the bottom.1
It's OK but not soft closing hinges.Verified ReviewerIt's an OK cabinet, but not soft closing hinges is a big big flaw. I'm being careful but the doors are pretty heavy so they slam loudly when they occasionally slip off your hands. I am worried the mirrors will break at some point. Will hjalpa soft closing hinges or any other from Ikea be right size for this cabinet as a replacement?3
Not up to usual IKEA standardsVerified ReviewerHalf way through installing to learn that the fitting screws aren't included after a long time head scratching. Wish I'd seen the reviews / responses from IKEA first. A shame since usually everything you need is in the box!2
Just what we needed usualVerified ReviewerJust what we needed usual IKEA quality and value for money. Straight forward and easy to assemble5
Great size lovely colour andVerified ReviewerGreat size lovely colour and very sturdy.5
There is a gap between doors when closed , looks horribleVerified ReviewerThere is a cm gap bwtween doors when it closed and it triggers my anxiety every time i look to it. You can see inside its ridiculous ! Also doors are not in a line even hinges fitted how it suppose to be. Another problem It doesnt come with screws and eall plugs so its adds up to the price.. I really regret that i chose this cabinet2
Verging on being Dangerous - Screws Far too ShortVerified ReviewerBought this cabinet for our bathroom. The screws that come with the cabinet to attach it to the wall are way too short and they don’t come with wall plugs. The entire cabinet nearly fell on top of me whilst I was trying to attach the doors. Had to go out and buy much bigger screws and wall plugs. At this price you would expect that IKEA would provide adequately sized screws and wall plugs. It’s a real shame as the rest of the cabinet is well made and looks really good. If you are buying this I would advise you also buy wall plugs and bigger screws with it, to save you the hassle afterwards.1
🤷‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️Verified ReviewerHanging screws provided are way too short & you can’t adjust the shelves once you’ve put the fittings in without tearing up the finish.2
Lovely cabinet but in my opinion fixings are inadequate if not supported on shelf.Verified ReviewerUnit is fairly heavy and 2 screws supplied only just protrude from fixing by about 10mm. In my opinion much longer screws required, which is what I used (extended screw length by about 30mm). Possibly 2 additional brackets would make it even more secure but 2 sufficed as resting on bathroom shelf.3
Mirror cabinet - DANGEROUS!Verified ReviewerMy builder bought the mirror cabinet with 2 doors when my bathroom was renovated last year, and I came home today to find the mirror smashed on the floor. Ikea's lack of quality is a fact that compensates with the value of some of its products but not when it compromises health and safety!1

Doors too heavy rips unit from the wall.Verified ReviewerBought this product 3 months ago. Fitted the product according to ikea instructions. I found the doors too heavy however I trusted the process. 3 months later it fell off the wall.1
ENHET Mirror cabinet with 2 doors, white/grey frame, 80x17x75 cm

Shared knowledge creates innovations

ENHET is the first storage series that our kitchen and bathroom specialists developed together. But if you think about it, it's a pretty logical collaboration. Both kitchens and bathrooms need work spaces, storage solutions and organisation – and need to withstand daily wear and tear in a humid environment. We also know that they are areas that many people find difficult and time-consuming to both plan and assemble. That’s what we set out to change.

One goal with ENHET was that all parts should be easy to assemble – intuitively and without any special tools. For cabinets and drawers it was a given to use the wooden wedge dowel which started to replace classic fittings in the IKEA range a few years ago.

Easy assembly with “Grisen”

But a new innovation was needed for the open storage in metal frames. That’s how "Grisen" ("Pig" in Swedish) came to be – a metal wedge dowel that allows you to easily assemble the frames with just a click. "It actually looks like the snout of a little piglet, so the nickname felt like a natural choice", says product developer Daniel Loader, who took part in the project.

Reliable steel

One challenge with the metal frames was that the steel must withstand the humid environments of kitchens and bathrooms – without rusting. “We found a method in the automotive industry called AD coating”, says Daniel and describes how all the frame parts are dipped in the coating. “After we saw the lab test photos, it was clear that we had the right solution. They showed rust on parts with other coatings, while those with the AD coating were rust-free.” Looking back at the project, Daniel thinks it provided important insights. “Something happens when you bring together a lot of people with different experiences, and strong and innovative momentum can arise."

Material

What are foil and laminate?

Some wood materials need protection with a durable and easy-care foil or laminate surface. The choice depends on the end use and desired finish. We often use paper foil for storage furniture, while plastic foil suits demanding areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Today, the plastic we use is mostly recycled and our goal is to use plastic from renewable sources. Laminate is made of resin-impregnated paper, which adds a durable and moisture-resistant surface for countertops.
