Stay awayAnonymous reviewerWish we had read the reviews before we bought, these are the worst things we have ever purchased from Ikea.
The last side is hard to get on, the backs are not square, the doors do not line up, the wall units we have not assembled yet are being returned1
Would Give it 0stars if I couldAnonymous reviewerIt's literally impossible to put together the back stops the last side from going on correct, if it's user error then the instructions need to be better1
Worst purchase everAnonymous reviewerLesson learnt - trust the reviews in future! I can’t even begin to explain how stressful the assembly of this item is! They seriously need to rethink the back panel because trying to keep this in place whilst slotting the bottom in with those stupid plastic things is near on impossible. I can honestly say this was one of the worst ikea furniture builds i have ever experienced, why they have made it so complicated i will never know. And don’t even get me started on assembling the drawers! I thought after assembling one it would get easier but it most certainly didn’t. Over £500 spent on this range and it doesn’t even look that great. Extremely disappointed and if I could just dismantle it all and get my money back i would absolutely do so1
Awful assembly Anonymous reviewerIKEA you have lost the plot! You are making your assembly more and more complicated and your quality is lacking. Agree with all the assembly issues in other reviews had to leave the back off as click mechanism doesn't work and feet such a pain. I bought two you'll be getting one back 😭1
RubbishAnonymous reviewerWe have a lot of ikea furniture..normally have no problem putting them together. However this has got to be the worse one, very straightforward in theory but the plastic popper things were awful, why they haven't used traditional cupboard fixings and getting the back in was a nightmare it kept popping out .The doors dont align as they haven't used traditional hinges. All in all I wish we had read the reviews before we purchased but didn't,as we have never had any issues with ikea furniture. Also as we cant align the doors i have to use a knife to get them open as the fixings dont align!1
Read the reviews. Don’t buyAnonymous reviewerI’ve done a lot of Ikea furniture in my time. This made me want to pull my hair out. Getting the outer aligned was fine but the doors were another level of stupid. Having to drill into the bottoms to do the feet was a nightmare, even with a drill! The spring mechanism is useless. The instructions are useless. The doors are misaligned. Wish I’d have paid more money for a better piece of furniture that came assembled. Waste of £801
Avoid, look for something else.Anonymous reviewerI read the reviews and still purchased 3 of these. They are not so horrible to put together. The back panel gets caught and prevents for an experienced DIYer but are horrible in finishing. e frame from going into place. It took me more time than expected after hours of brute force. The design is awful. The doors are so badly misaligned that one scuffs on the top and the other has a massive gap, I mean , gaps are highly noticeable. Putting them on the walls was easy but alignment is not possible as relies on hit and miss by taking them out and trying numerous times. Very bad design, would not recommend overall. They aren't worth the effort and are disappointing. They look cheap on the wall, can’t join them together as would look unaligned, cannot take or align doors and for £240 is a waste of money. Avoid and spend your money on something else! Maybe TEMU has better cabinets on offer.2
ExcellentAnonymous reviewerVery very good value for money. Ordered more units. Very happy5
Expensive for what it isAnonymous reviewerExpensive and badly designed. Difficult to put together.2
Poor quality and manufacturing, with difficult assembly and parts incorrectly made.Anonymous reviewerI wish I'd taken heed of the negative reviews and 2.7/5 rating. As other reviewers have said, the assembly design is terrible - the worst I have experienced with Ikea. I know it has always been a thrifty brand, but there are serious corners being cut now. The assembly was difficult, and the instructions terrible. And I consider myself to be fairly handy with these things. No pre-drilled holes for the feet, so extra work there too. Once 90% assembled, I fitted one door to find that the magnet hole which should be on the inside, has been drilled into the outside. I fitted the door in what appeared to be the correct way, only to find that it wouldn't shut. Because the spring loaded pin holding the door on can't be accessed, the door is stuck on there with no way to remove unless the cabinet is disassembled. Not that it matters, because the doors can't be correctly fitted anyway. As other reviewers have said, they are really badly aligned. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning.1
Difficult to assemble Anonymous reviewerLooks nice when put together and size was better than other units, I had been looking at besta but no half size units that could be placed upright meant these where a better fit.
Difficult to assemble, fiddly to place the back in and last side on without the sides moving apart. Doors fiddly to adjust to make the square in the frame.4
Eket cupboardAnonymous reviewerProvides a great stylish storage space that is very well designed and strong5
Shocking designAnonymous reviewerThis furniture looks good but the self assembly design is quite simply shocking. Ikea has clearly moved from traditional cabinet fixings to a combination of keyhole fixings and plastic clips. Presumably to save money but it makes assembly much more difficult nothing can be adjusted. Learning from the experience of others on Reddit helps but it simply shouldn’t be that hard. This is the first purchase from Ikea that I have truly regretted. Buyer beware!!!!2
Eket cabinetAnonymous reviewerAssembly is fairly straightforward although the design is poor. We had two of the drawer sets to mount alongside using the additional clamps. It took ages to try and get the units to line up together. As per other reviews the door latches are awful and aligning the doors evenly is nigh on impossible. I suppose you get what you pay for, but this is poor compared to other Ikea products we have had in the past.1
Excellent storage solutionAnonymous reviewerI purchased this for an extra storage in my sewing room, it fits in perfectly with my sewing machine cabinet and has good storage space for my sewing accessories. Very pleased with it.5
Worst IKEA furniture everAnonymous reviewerI've had many pieces from IKEA over the years, and these are the worst. So bad that I'm writing a review to back that up.
The build was quick and easy, but the cabinets themselves are flimsy and cheap-feeling. Wall mountings have no thought behind them - you cant adjust the cabinet once it's on, you can only take it off entirely then "best guess" and try again.
Once on the wall, the doors are flimsy and one actually fell off causing damage to my floor. They also cant be adjusted very much, so all mine have gaps. The cabinets can be fixed to each other, but only from the back and even then they dont stay oriented once wall mounted.
The worst part is the door "poppers and closers" which are utterly useless in function. Close one door, the other pops open. Close the leftmost cabinet, and two cabinets down pops open.
Sadly they're on the wall, but I wish I could return the lot for something else.
0/10 would not recommend 1
Terrible unitAnonymous reviewerEasy to assemble as long as you start with nr 1 side first.
Just finished assembling unit, feet on, doors on, shelf in place.
Quality is terrible. Not sturdy, doors not opening/closing properly, different size gap between doors as you move from top to bottom.
IKEA to mass produce a poor quality unit like this you should be ashamed.
Not fit for purpose.1
Great child friendly storageAnonymous reviewerWe used these to build around an arch opening in our dining room to store child toys, our books and used a selection of cupboards, drawers and open and closed box units so some elements can be displayed.
Surprised by how many negative reviews, we built 16 of these units. As long as you follow the instructions, you'll be fine, yes ,perhaps not the standard Ikea build, but once you've mastered one you'll be flying5
Don't understand the bad reviewsAnonymous reviewerI found this product easy enough to put together - the sides required some force to slot in perfectly (I used a hammer with a rolled up towel to soften the blow) but other than that it was straightforward and it built very neatly. It's very sturdy and a great colour. The cabinet itself is very deep so perfect for storage.5
Entirely achievable styleAnonymous reviewerThis requires a hammer to assist in the pushing of the parts together. But other than that, quite simple to put together. Looks really good. Slightly annoyed that a part was missing but sorting through the online replacement service. If you can use your head, you can put this together!4
