Laminate worktops are made by pressing layers of paper and resin onto particleboard under continuous high heat and pressure, creating a durable and practical surface.

Laminate worktops are durable and easy to maintain. With a little care, they stay like new for many years.

You can cut the worktop to the length you want and cover the edges with the included edging strip.

Finished edges on all 4 sides.

Materials and care

Care

Wipe clean with a soft cloth dampened in water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap, if necessary.

Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Even though laminate is a durable material you should never place hot pots or pans directly on the worktop without a trivet or pot stand.

Do not place a toaster, coffee maker, kettle or other kitchen appliances that emit heat directly over a seam between two worktops because the heat can damage the seam.

Always use a chopping board, never cut directly on the worktop with a knife. Never pull an object with rough or ragged edges across the worktop as it can scratch the surface.

To prevent permanent stains on the worktop, wipe clean spills or messes immediately with a soft cloth dampened in water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap.

Never use a steel scourer, scourer pad, souring agent or similar products as they can scratch the surface.

Worktops in laminate or thick veneer that are installed above a dishwasher or oven shall be protected on the underside with FENSJÖ diffusion barrier.

Safety and compliance

Supporting legs are required when an overhang exceeds 25 cm. The maximum distance between these legs should not be more than 80 cm.

AVOIDAnonymous reviewerHave been advised by IKEA that this is not a countertop not to be used near sink areas (ironically if you look at the product photos you'll see it advertised with a sink...). Had this installed 18 months ago and the worktop has failed around the tap due to poor installation. When trying to enact the warranty clause (I went with an approved IKEA fitter), IKEA aren't interested and contradicted the IKEA appointed kitchen surveyors report from a call centre. Currently still paying the kitchen off and with hindsight I would have gone with their competitors a million times over to avoid any of the hassle.1

As electric sockets need isolating to fit & Sparky to reinstall. Quality seems OK but now need a break in the weather for cutting outside.5

Very disappointing as we can't replace easily. We now have to have something to hide the ends as it looks really bad. I wish I had paid more for a better quality product3

Beautiful but not practicalAnonymous reviewerI find this worktop so stylish and compliments my IKEA kitchen so well but it is not practical/fit for purpose.. a kitchen is a kitchen be it busy or not it should withstand the work that comes with cooking etc.. my kitchen I take such good care of as I waited so long to have a new kitchen of my own and I still have 3 chips on my worktop and I don’t know how any of them happened.. extremely disappointed.. I also have the match of the worktop on the wall so it would not be an easy change for me!!3

The worktop is edged all the way round which made installation easy. Looks great and I’m extremely pleased with the result. Would definitely recommend……..in fact I have, to friends!!5

Poor qualityAnonymous reviewerI love these worktops because they are finished on all four sides which makes ends and corner joints much easier when you are a DIYer. However after fitting the kitchen and installing an inset sink the finished end started to open up and due to the proximity to the sink, water can get in. I now have to rip that whole section out and get the sink refitted into a new length of worktop and hope that it doesn’t happen again. I cannot afford to replace all the worktops in the kitchen :( 3

We only had one choice of top and although fitting was better this time feel it will come apart soon. Also it is very hard to keep clean as grease marks keep appearing even when water is used to wipe it3

Worktop was good and straight, not something that can be said for many off the shelf worktops from diy retailers. All in all, good.5
DisappointingAnonymous reviewerInstalled this 6 months ago, I really liked the fact that all sides are finished but one of the finished ends, very close to the kitchen sink, has split open. This means that I have to replace the whole piece of worktop and get the hold cut for the sink again. Big expense :(1
