You might assume it could be used with this lamp as well as the non-orange lamps. The dimmer, so called, did not dim. It only switched the lamp on or off. (Could the dimmer be used with the recommended lamps too? No way of knowing). 2

                  Nice design but consistent quality issues.Anonymous reviewerI'm a big fan of this lamp and have bought a few. However I've returned three of them due to quality issues. Two of them (presumably from the same batch) had uneven/defective threads so when the shade is screwed into the base it wasn't even and would be slightly lopsided. I then bought a replacement (the third one in the space of a week) which I made sure was a different batch, however this one had a couple of small blemishes on the shade where the frosted/misted coating was missing creating spots. For a £35 lamp I expect better and clearly IKEA aren't thorough when quality checking these. IKEA don't seem to care that I've had to return three of these in a row either, hours of my time spent having to drive to the store etc.2

                  We bought one of these in Thailand a couple of years ago and brought it back. It gives a fantastic amount of light without giving glare. I also love that this is a totally different design to anything at the other mainstream lighting stores in NZ.

                  What is glass?

                  Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
