Bed Anonymous reviewerEasy to put together. Not a great bed. The pull out bed does not slide back in fully so always sticking out slightly. The draws have already broken several times, when pulling them out to get the clothes the front has fallen off, as the wood is not deep enough to hold the screws in. The mattress could do with being thicker 2
Need better instructions Anonymous reviewerFollowed all instructions to a tee and still several times had to disassembly through process as instructions didn’t have enough detail. Even after completion the shelves don’t work as roller on wrong end, when I went back over instructions the detail wasn’t there. 1
Happy Anonymous reviewerI have had this bed for around 7 years. We had no problem building it with 2 people, I also have no problem pulling out to extend as others have reported. Some people report that once pushed back as a single it doesn’t fit back together properly, but I have not encountered this. The bed is used daily and is still ok to use, a bit of the laminate is peeling next to the radiator and looks generally a bit worn. The only downside to this bed is the quality of the two 80x200 mattresses that you need to buy for the bed, as two stacked together they are comfy enough with a topper, but laid out in the double position they are extremely uncomfortable. Also in the stacked position the bed is a bit too high. All in all I like the bed ikea just needs to work on better mattresses for it 5
BedAnonymous reviewerEvery guest that has stayed has said how comfortable it is…5
It's ok as an occasional bedAnonymous reviewerWas pretty straightforward to build following the instructions, you do need a helper for some sections as noted. The foam mattress designed for this is not so bad when doubled up and used on the single bed but when opened out is not.3
Front pullout section askewAnonymous reviewerI am certain that I have assembled it correctly as instructed. However when the bed is in single (daybed) configuration the front of the bed is tilted up and does not sit flush.3
Small but PerfectAnonymous reviewerA great alternative to having a double bed in a spare room. Although it took me a while, I managed to put this together on my own and it looks great and is comfortable to sleep on. 5
Great design, comfortable bedAnonymous reviewerGreat design, works well as a single bed and pulls out effortlessly to make a comfortable double bed. Has useful storage too. Be prepared for a marathon construct but worth it! 5
Flexible furnitureAnonymous reviewerThe bed(s) are ideal for visiting guests and family and provide essential
storage as well.5
Amazing bed to sleep, very uncomfortable during day time to sitAnonymous reviewerAmazing bed to sleep, very uncomfortable during day time to sit, but assuming that is not entirely his job, I gave a four.
As an extra bed is top notch and I would recommend to anyone needs one4
Extremely difficult to assembleAnonymous reviewerI’m a handy man and have over 20 yrs experience of assembling Ikea beds wardrobes etc avoid this bed if you want something easy to assemble. It took me four hours of concentrated effort to put together. If you don’t follow
the instructions to the letter you will
regret it. Especially assembling the draw runners one of the drawings for attaching the runners to the horizontal members is very ambiguous. With this small ambiguity it makes the whole of the rest of the location holes misalign. Also pay
Extreme attention to instructions when assembling the slats one side of the slats lays upon the metal stretcher and the other side is suspended from the underside of the stretcher very confusing especially if you are assembling in a small
room. When it’s all put together you realize the need for all this complexity! Also
Make sure you
Count the exact amount of holes from each
End of the bed because the have to match the other side perfectly otherwise you will
have to start again. Absolutely
Avoid this bed there is a reason it’s cheap.
I charge £40 an hour to assemble it took me 4 hours. If you
Do it yourself good
Luck !

Brimnes Sleeper CouchAnonymous reviewerCompact, plenty storage and nice and pleasant to look at but difficult to find fitted sheets for the mattresses 5
Not great qualityAnonymous reviewerBroken bed slat and quite a flimsy design 1
Ideal for guest bedAnonymous reviewerPurchased as guest bed, works well as both single and double. The drawers are very useful for storing the bedding. I find it a little tricky to pull out to a double on my own but with help it's a breeze . I would prefer different handles, something flatter as l ve bumped my shins a couple of times .4
GreatAnonymous reviewerReally pleased with this 5
Brimes Guest BedAnonymous reviewerExcellent value for money. Read assembly instructions very carefully as the slats must interlock.
Very comfortable and easy to pull out at short notice when guests arrive.5
Nice bedAnonymous reviewerHeavier than expected but quite sturdy..works fine as a guest bed. Drawers quite big so lots of room for spare bedding 5
Looks greatAnonymous reviewerA bit of a challenge to put together, well worth it , it looks great, haven’t slept in it yet but feels comfortable with two mattresses, excellent value for money, very happy 😃5
Single Day bed that extends to double bed for guestsAnonymous reviewerWe bought Brimnes after seeing Hennessy day bed that has higher side and back. We wanted it to be able to act exactly like a double bed for guests when extended. Putting together was slightly difficult as I screwed the timber slats from the wrong side. But caught my mistake half way.
It serves our purpose well with some minor issues, such as when it’s double bed, one must not allow kids to jump or adults to fall back as only half the slats are covering the area and they are not very strong.
The other issue is with the wheels to the front, that allow the bed to slide out a little when in single day bed form. There is no mechanism to stop the wheels.
Other than that, it’s worth the money and convenience.4
Really awfulAnonymous reviewerVery complicated build, extremely heavy to operate. The sliding mechanism catches on both sides making it impossible to open easily. It never closes fully due to this. Big fail from IKEA. Avoid.1
