Very pleased with these bookcases, they look really smart and were easy to assemble. I've never had doors on a bookcase before and it really makes a difference - the room looks really smart and tidy. Definitely worth doing.
A real shame that 60cm width is no longer available.
I hope these last as long as my previous Billy bookcases which I bought about 25 years ago, survived several house moves and have now gone to a new home.

Have a previous unit and almost twice the depth! These are far to narrow in depth & looks ridiculous next to existing unit.

Excellent storage solution.Anonymous reviewerOne of many Billy bookcases we own, but went the whole hog with doors, glass doors and height extension. All went together easily . The glass doors are a bit fiddly but easy with 2 people.
Good value but unfinished Anonymous reviewerI would have scored this higher if I hadn’t had a couple issues.
1) the holes for the handles were not drilled right through meaning I had to make my own (with the ikea screw provided) but this cracked the veneer and I had to buy my own handles with a larger base to cover this.
2) despite trying several different adjustments there is what I consider a large gap between the doors. Given this is in the corner of a room and not a focal point I’m sure it won’t be noticed but it is noticeable.
3) the backboard should have a pre drawn line for the middle shelf and securing pins. As despite following ikea instruction book this cracked the shelf that is the most noticeable. I’ve had to use wood glue and will likely have to paint to disguise.

No full size solid doorsAnonymous reviewerBought 4 small doors to use top and bottom, they don’t fit. You can’t buy full height solid doors. Nothing on the website explains this. The bookcase is lovely just a real shame you cannot fit doors to enclose it all, the full height door range is abysmal.

We were even lucky enough to pick up another one secondhand a few days later for a different room inspired by liking the one we bought in Ikea so much.
Better than expected!Anonymous reviewerI bought this as was exact size I was looking for, for the edge of a well aired bathroom that has great ventilation and only a bath (would not suggest in one with a shower or that gets steamy with poor ventilation). I honestly found it 7/10 hard to put together, not easy, like other reviewers say. Took me 2 hrs alone with a lot of patience. However, once in place, it looks amazing! The bottom cupboard is great for spare loo rolls, and other bathroom stuff you don't want on display and the shelving is great for spare towels, folded or rolled, attractive bath products and even a small plant or two. Just has been a great purchase, much better than expected. I have given 4 stars, as can't give 4.5. The 0.5 I deducted as it was tricky to assemble at times, particularly the slide in back. Admittedly, if I'd had a helper it might have been easier, but many of us do have to assemble things alone. Maybe Ikea could look at that and design assembly for the singletons out there a bit more!!
It's okay, but could be improvedAnonymous reviewerSimply a bookcase with doors attached. Back is slightly loose, but main bugbear was that the doors aren't a clean fit, one seams slightly off. I might be able to get them aligned but it's going to take some work to get it "just right"

Material
What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
