Could be betterAnonymous reviewerThe Billy bookcase has 2 problems mentioned before: (1) the adjacent parts have no connection between them, the only way to align the parts is fixing to the wall at the top, and only works if the floor is perfectly flat. It is just a few fixing screws to add to the bookcase parts, and they are not supplied (2) the cutouts for the floor skirtings are too low, no one has 8cm skirtings anymore. IKEA needs to change all their designs to higher skirtings, 10cm min, it’s always a problem, for many years now4
Good but description misleadingAnonymous reviewerThe bookcase appears to be well made, however as another reviewer pointed out I was not expecting three separate columns and an extension on top. It appears sturdy enough. Customer service was excellent in explaining the "modular" structure. I would recommend this to a friend but I would highlight that it is three individual bookcases and not a real modular design that plugs in together.3

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded.
