Hard to loveAnonymous reviewerBought this on a whim while moving the room around to house our tv. The quality just doesn’t seem to be as good as previous purchases (Kallax lover), was very dusty in the packaging and has a few chips out of the coloured areas. Think I may have just got a bad one as I’ve never had an issue with Ikea furniture quality in the past, if the doors didn’t cover the chips it would be going back plus it’s Saturday and Ikea on a Saturday is my idea of hell.
Long tv standAnonymous reviewerGreat for holding 65" tv and sound bar in front of tv. Subwoofer goes underneath in the middle storage section and cables nicely hidden behind the cabinet with ease. Easy to put together and looks amazing in a larger sitting room. Pity there isn't door for the end 2 spaces either side. Would have elevated the look even more, but extremely happy with it as it is.

My only gripe with all the recent matt grey styles of IKEA is that it marks so easily. dust and hand prints. I should have checked it better. Same issue with the same matt grey wardrobes. `Also can't get grey glass tops for all the different besta units.

However the white finish of the top seems thin & easily marked. I chose the screw fixing type hanging brackets to support the shelves. Without relieving the edges of each shelf locally in 4 places by 1mm for the arm of the bracket , the shelves were too tight a fit. The modification worked well. The shelves were a good close fit but easily removeable.
Besta tv benchAnonymous reviewerWall mounted this bench, shame the top isn’t high gloss to match the doors. Putting bench together wasn’t so bad but, aligning up the doors to the same height/level is not easy very frustrating. Overall end product looks fab, with loads of space inside.

Problems with one doorAnonymous reviewerWe had this unit for over a year. One of the doors started "hanging", becoming not aligned. We adjusted the hinges, but the wood/material to which the top hinge is attached is either less sturdy or faulty, so the hinge moves. The door needs to be manually lifted a bit to make it fit with the other to close it. Quite disapointing

It’s a few centimetres higher than the old one but otherwise is just what we needed for the space. I like that it can be customised to suit but it can quickly become pricy when adding doors, shelves and/or drawers.

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
