Solid wood is a hardwearing natural material that you can sand and treat the surface as needed.

Beech is hard wood with an even grain through the timber. When exposed to sunlight, beech ages from light red tone to a more rose-brown colour.

Takes a bit of time to construct but not difficult to do. Looks fantastic and perfect size. Only issue is beech is extremely light in colour so will mark easily. Needs treating - not recommend pure tung oil on beech as it make it look very yellow like a fake tan! Trixig wood treatment oil sold by Ikea sounds on the money but I can't get to the store so will use a natural top oil.5

Bekvam solid wood trolleyAnonymous reviewerI got a bit stuck with attaching the shelves as the holes and connectors didn't seem to line up. It took some calm manoeuvring and a rubber mallet to gently bang into position. Easy to assemble and very pleased with this Bekvam trolley. 5
Something is not right with the fixingsAnonymous reviewerIt took a return of the first unit, several replacement fixings for the lower shelf and a replacement leg to finally get one of these put together. The screw part of the fixings for the lower shelf had to be undone slightly to allow the twisting part to grip it without breaking. Don't force it, the twisting bit will break. This was the case on both units I had. One leg was cracked on the second unit which IKEA swapped. Once together and oiled it looks great though. 2
