Sarah started off the project by studying how people with physical limitations move, and what their needs are. “It often feels good to be able to hold on to something with your hand. That’s why we developed the wall-mounted towel rail and shower shelf. But the step stools and the shower chair are stable and grip-friendly supports, too.” The shower chair can also add a bit of everyday luxury: imagine sitting comfortably and steadily and feeling the warm water pouring over your body.

No idea why but we have tried various different brands of toilet paper to find none of them actually work with this item! Will keep searching though because it’s now fitted to our new tiled bathroom wall and don’t fancy replacing a tile as well as the loo roll holder 💔

With the extra thick rolls, ie more sheets of paper, then the loo roll does touch the wall behind it but width wise all rolls I've used fit fine. Please don't be put off buying affordable mobility equipment because some people couldn't get it to work for them.

Great Design, poor execution Anonymous reviewerReally great design but the toilet paper roll won’t even fit unless you remove the two plastic covers on the main part. The shelf also doesn’t fit on the top as shown. It pops up and isn’t usable at all.
Not for toilet rolls!Anonymous reviewerThe product itself looks great but the toilet roll holder is not wide enough to fit the roll, it is so tight it pinches the roll and you are unable to turn it, there is literally no extra width, as I did not want to return the product I turned it upside down and used it as a towel holder, IKEA may want to consider it's change of use when thousands get returned! I used a laser level to fit as the wall clips need to be bang on in 4 places to fit it.

Our BÄSINGEN product series is there for convenient support when you need it the most. Designed for the bathroom, but just as useful throughout the home.
Life at home is in constant change, and the needs can shift quickly. “Maybe you pushed extra hard in the gym and woke up feeling all stiff. Then you might need a little extra support and help with the simplest everyday things. Like taking a shower,” says designer Sarah Fager.

The products were created to take up little space and have a minimalistic expression that is rooted in our Scandinavian design tradition. “They should blend in regardless of your style and shouldn’t be something you need to put away or hide.” Sarah hopes that the series will make a difference in the everyday life of many people. “This was one of my most challenging design projects because it was about meeting needs that were new to me. But this also made it one of my most enlightening projects. I wish BÄSINGEN will be something you can live with for a long time. Maybe you will use the products a bit less during certain periods in life, but they are always close at hand, ready to provide support.”
