Great design, terrible execution—cheap shelves that will failAnonymous reviewerI love the clean, minimalist look of the LASTARE wardrobe, but the shelf system is cheap and fundamentally flawed. I bought two units, and on both, the shelves barely span the gap between the walls and constantly slip off.
The build quality makes it worse:
1. The pre-drilled holes on the shelf undersides are positioned far too close to the edges, causing the veneer and core to tear out under very little pressure.
2. The support pins are cheap, ill-fitting, and bind rather than seating cleanly.
Between the narrow cut of the shelves, the tearing around the peg holes, and the binding hardware, this is a poorly designed system that simply can't perform its most basic function. Don't waste your money until IKEA overhauls the engineering.
The shelves are too shortAnonymous reviewerThey do not fit on the shelf brackets and there is a gap. Half of them arrived damaged too because of where the holes have been drilled.
