The cold-start function prevents hot water waste and saves energy. When you lift the lever straight up, only cold water is released. The function restricts opening the lever fully to the right.
Hot water is released by turning the lever to the left. It is only then that hot water is consumed.
This is a durable mixer tap that you can use for many years, since the hard, ceramic discs withstand the friction that always occurs when you change the temperature of the water.

Good but tap doesn’t centreAnonymous reviewerThe tap is nice but you can’t centre the hot/cold handle, it is always 90 degrees or more off, even with the built in correction screw. They’ve used a mixer cartridge from a vertical tap which goes 0-90 degrees so I had to buy a replacement cartridge that goes -45 to +45 degrees online and swap it out. All the display taps in Ikea Wembley have the same problem when I went back and checked.
