Took about a day to build. I had no issues building it, but I looked through all the instructions first, then followed it step by step.
The unit itself is so handy, the 2 shelfs on one side, and space on the other, I have my kitchen bins in the space.
Delighted with it, it’s just what I needed.

Quite difficult to assemble on your own and I had to leave the last bit overnight so I looked at it with a fresh perspective the next morning! Once it was assembled I absolutely loved it. We bought two!Anonymous reviewerWe bought a Tornviken kitchen island for our studio in Nice and loved it so much that on our return to the UK bought another.
In both cases we coupled it with Janinge bar stools which slot nicely into the island.
Ullerslev sheepskins were added for increased comfort.
The unit is attractive, robust and easily cleaned and the stools comfortable without the sheepskins.

Great but hard to assemble wellAnonymous reviewerWe love this product! it's useful and pretty. Hard to properly assemble though - nails took multiple tries to insert and some still did not insert properly, thus leaving a visible gap between the wood panels.

Sturdy and practical islandAnonymous reviewerThe island is very sturdy and really practical to use. It looks beautiful and feels solid once assembled. The only small issue was that when I opened the box, one side had a few small scratches.
Also, for anyone planning to put baskets on the lower shelf like I did: I searched a lot online but couldn’t find the shelf clearance measurements anywhere. The inner height of the shelf is about 26 cm, so baskets around 25 cm high fit perfectly.
I used the IKEA TATING handmade baskets (25W × 35D × 25H cm) and they fit the shelf perfectly, in case anyone else is looking for baskets that work well with this island.
