You can easily create your own personal lamp with just a decorative bulb, or combine the cord set with a lampshade of your choice.
The cord set has a disc that allows you to easily adjust the cord length so that the lamp hangs at the height you want.
Use a cord set to easily adjust the length of the cord for your pendant lamp. When the lamp hangs at the perfect height, gather the remaining cord in the ceiling cup and then mount it tight to the ceiling.

Needed item to go with the glass shadeAnonymous reviewerThis did almost what we required in holding up the glass shade, we did have an issue with the electrical connection that would not hold the connected wiring by the connecter supplied so adjustments had to be made to get the light working.

Looks nice but 2 major issuesAnonymous reviewerEasy enough to put together but had 2 issues. These need a hook in the ceiling rather than screws, Ideally the correct size hook should be included, fortunately I had a couple I didn't use from a retractable washing line so saved me a drive to hardware store.
I bought these to go with 2 Kallfront shades and 2 Molnart glode (BIG) bulbs, exactly as they had it at Sheff IKEA. They didn't work, after checking everything and trying other bulbs I realised the wider bottoms of the big globe bulbs were preventing the terminals making contact. Basically I had to cut a few mm off the lampholder so it would allow the bulb to screw in enough to work. Smaller bulbs work without doing this but look rubbish. Not sure if I am missing something but there a few people who have had this issue (google it) and it's a shame because it turned a 30 minute job into a couple of hours. That all said thw wife is very happy with the end result and owes my a favour ;)
Good value and looksAnonymous reviewerLike a lot of IKEA products, you could pay a lot more for the same functionality but what's the point in that ? OK they use plastic where others use alloy but you would be hard put to notice that.
Fitting not adequateAnonymous reviewerThe light fitting doesn't functionally work as the clip that holds the cup to the ceiling (as there is no plate) is too big to grip the cord, so it doesn't work.
