You can truly make a difference in climate change!
SMEs make up 90% of businesses globally, and are responsible for 64% of global emissions; making them crucial to fight climate change. Even the smallest business decisions and actions impact global emissions.
Average temperatures on Earth are rising steeply, at the fastest rate in history.
During the past 150 years alone – since industrialisation went global – temperatures are up by 1.1 °C. Scientists predict that if nothing changes, we may soon see temperatures increase by 3, 4 and maybe even close to 6 degrees. Even small changes in average temperatures can disrupt ecosystems in every part of the world.
Every business decision or activity generates greenhouse gas or CO2 emissions which are the main cause of rising global temperatures. Therefore, we need SMEs to also take action in order to global rising temperatures.
SMEs around the world are already taking climate action!
In every corner of the globe, small and medium-sized enterprises are stepping up to tackle the pressing challenge of climate change. Many businesses are not only recognising the urgent need for sustainable practices but are also leading the way with inspiring initiatives that make a tangible difference.
Discover how SMEs are transforming their operations, engaging their communities, and contributing to the fight against climate change.
"What I’ve learned through this journey is that small steps add up. What once felt overwhelming has become an exciting challenge, and seeing real progress has motivated me to keep going. By focusing on practical solutions and taking it one step at a time, sustainability has become a natural and beneficial part of my business. There’s a common misconception that sustainability is costly, but we’ve found that in many cases, it actually saves money while also improving our guest experience, reputation, and reviews."
