IKEA Physical and Digital Gift Cards Terms and Conditions
Terms and conditions for Gift Cards issued from October 6th 2025 in the UK 1. The following terms and conditions (hereafter referred to as the “Agreement”) apply to use of physical or digital IKEA gift cards (hereafter “Gift Cards”) or Refund Cards, (collectively, “Cards”) purchased directly through IKEA or allocated to a customer by IKEA (see section 13 below for detail on third party gift card purchases). This Agreement is between you and IKEA. By purchasing, accepting, or using your Card, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree with this Agreement, do not purchase, use, or accept the Card. 2. Your Card The Cards are issued by IKEA Limited of 1 Bow Churchyard, London, EC4M 9DQ (“IKEA”). Please note that these terms and conditions apply only to Cards purchased or issued in the UK. For gift cards purchased or issued in other countries, please refer to the terms and conditions relevant for that country. 3. Balance Inquiry You may inquire regarding your balance at any IKEA store or use the online balance checker. The balance you receive when inquiring is an estimate only. In most cases, the balance is adjusted immediately when you make a purchase, but there may be occasions when the balance adjustment is delayed. The Cards may not be reloaded with additional value. 4. Expiration/Fees The Card remains valid for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase of the Card (or date of receipt of the card in the case of Refund Cards) (the “Validity Period”). Once the Validity Period has expired, any unused balance on the card will be lost. No fees for inactivity or service fees apply to any Cards. However, IKEA reserves the right to refuse to honor any Card in the event of a disputed credit card charge, bounced check or other failure of consideration. 5. Redemption Your Card is redeemable only for purchases of IKEA products, IKEA services purchased in-store or via IKEA.com/gb/en food and beverages at IKEA stores. The Cards have no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash (except as required by law) or used to purchase another Card. Cards can be redeemed at any IKEA store or online in the following countries: Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain (excluding Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Mallorca and Gran Canaria), Sweden, Switzerland, UK IKEA reserves the right to amend this list of countries at any time. Customers can use Cards as part payment if the items being purchased are of a higher price than the amount on the Card. The difference shall be paid by card or cash (in-store only). 6. No Refunds on purchase of gift cards No refunds are permitted with respect to the purchase of Gift Cards; all sales are final. 7. Risk of Loss, Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Cards Digital Gift and Refund Cards: the value of any lost, damaged or stolen Cards will not be replaced. You are responsible for safeguarding your Card from unauthorized use. Title and risk of loss for digital Gift Card and Refund Cards pass to the purchaser upon the electronic transmission to the purchaser or the designated recipient, the delivery to the carrier, or at the time of purchase or refund for in-person transactions, whichever is applicable. Physical Gift Cards and Refund Cards: remain the property of IKEA Limited, and may not be tampered or interfered with, without our consent. Risk of loss of the aforementioned cards passes to the purchaser on purchase or allocation of the Card. 8. Resale Prohibited You may not sell a Card or otherwise barter for its exchange. However, you may transfer a Card to another person for no monetary consideration (e.g., as a gift). 9. Minimum/Maximum Value Minimum order value for an IKEA Gift Cards is: £1 The maximum order value an IKEA Gift Card is: £250 10. Refunds on purchases Please refer to IKEA’s General Terms and Conditions – Refunds and Cancellations for details (General Terms and Conditions - IKEA UK). Where a Card has been used as part payment and the value of the return exceeds the value of the Card used to purchase the items, refunds shall be issued to the original payment method. In the event that the original Card used to pay was a physical card, you will be allocated a digital Refund Card on return. 11. Limitation of Liability IKEA MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO THE CARDS INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT THAT A CARD IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND IKEA’S SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH CARD. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LEGISLATION, IKEA WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION: FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THE CARD ARISING OUT OF YOUR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS AGREEMENT. 12. Fraud/Violation of Agreement IKEA reserves the right to refuse to honor, or to suspend or deactivate a Card where IKEA suspects that the Card was obtained fraudulently (including tampering or duplication), in violation of this Agreement, or in violation of applicable laws or other applicable IKEA terms and conditions. IKEA is not responsible for, and assumes no liability to you for any unlawful conduct or fraud by any third party associated with any Card. 13. Data Privacy Your personal data will be processed by IKEA in order to process and deliver the Card. Please refer to IKEA’s Privacy Policy for details of how your personal data will be processed. 14. Third party gift card purchases If you have purchased an IKEA gift card through a third party, please note that the terms and conditions displayed on the website you purchased the gift card from will apply to your purchase. 15. Amendment of this Agreement IKEA reserves the right to amend this Agreement from time to time, where IKEA deems necessary to do so. 16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Gift and Refund cards(s) can be used at any IKEA store in: Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain*, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. *With the exception of the stores in Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Mallorca and Gran Canaria. 2. Some Gift Cards can only be redeemed in the same country of issue. For further details visit the IKEA Website of the issuing country for their Terms & Conditions 3. The minimum value needed to activate an IKEA Gift Card is £1 and the maximum value that can be stored on an IKEA Gift card is £250. 4. To check the balance of any Gift or Refund card(s), you can check online or visit any IKEA store. 5. No cash change will be given on purchases made using a Gift or Refund card(s). 6. Gift cards cannot be returned or refunded, except in accordance with your legal rights. The balance cannot be converted into cash. 7. The value on the card(s) cannot be used to pay credit card or IKEA Business account balances. 8. The balance on the card(s) can be controlled at any IKEA store, or by the phone via the Contact Centre. 9. The card(s) remain the property of IKEA UK and Ireland Ltd, and may not be tampered or interfered with, without our consent. 10. Gift card(s) can be used as a complete or partial payment in all the above IKEA stores including online. 11. There are no limitations on how many times a card(s) can be used (until the balance is £0.00). 12. The card(s) have no expiration date. 13. If card(s) are found, please return to the nearest IKEA store. 14. IKEA is unable to replace card(s) if lost, damaged or stolen.
