How does ‘Interior design advice’ for my home work?
This guide explains the step-by-step process for our Interior Design Advice service, from initial preparation to receiving your final recommendations.
- Before booking. To ensure you get the most value from your consultation, take some time to prepare. Think about the style, colours, and materials you like, and browse our online Room ideas for inspiration. It is also helpful to take photos of your room and measure the key dimensions of the space you need advice on.
- Book your appointment. Select an available time slot from our online calendar, provide your details, and complete the payment to confirm your 45-minute online meeting. You will then receive a confirmation email with the name of your interior designer and instructions for your meeting.
- Reschedule or cancel (if needed). If your plans change, you can reschedule or cancel your appointment. To cancel, please use the link in your confirmation email. To reschedule, contact us at [email protected]. Please give as much notice as possible to avoid any extra fees.
- Prepare for your meeting with a questionnaire. After booking, you will receive a link to a questionnaire in your confirmation email. Please complete this with as much detail as possible to help your designer prepare. Before the meeting, gather any room dimensions, photos, and inspirational images you wish to discuss. You can share these with your designer during the appointment.
- Meet your designer. During your 45-minute online meeting, you will have a one-to-one discussion with your interior designer. This is your time to talk through your design dilemmas, share your ideas, and get expert advice on topics like furniture selection, colour schemes, storage, and styling. Our designers can provide advice on a range of topics, including:
- Furniture and product selection
- Colour schemes and materials
- Interior styling, textiles, and accessories
- Storage and organisation
- Lighting and Home Smart solutions
- Creating a more sustainable home - Receive your recommendations and order. After your meeting, your designer will share the following details with you:
- Product collage: A visual collection of recommended furniture and accessories that match your style and colour palette, helping you see how the products work together.
- Detailed shopping list: A complete list of all the recommended IKEA products, making it easy for you to purchase them online or in-store and a detailed shopping list containing all the recommended IKEA items.
You can also get help with placing your order and arranging any additional services you may need, such as delivery or assembly.
