Can I resize an item or adjust the dimensions of the room in IKEA Kreativ?
Whether you're using a Showroom, Photographic Wide-Angle Scan, Full Room Scan, or Configure a Room feature, the same concept applies: we aim to provide an accurate representation of how products will fit in your space.
Showrooms
Showrooms offer 100% accuracy based on the given square footage. The layout and product placement are designed to scale, so the items reflect their true size in relation to the room.
- Product Resizing: Products within a showroom cannot be resized. If a sofa looks too large for your living room in the showroom, it’s a sign that it might be too large for your space in reality as well. Consider alternative models if the fit doesn’t seem right.
Scanning Room Types (Photographic Wide-Angle & Full Room Scans)
When using a Photographic Wide-Angle Scan or Full Room Scan, your room’s dimensions are captured with high accuracy:
Accuracy of Scans: The app achieves approximately 97% accuracy in capturing your room’s dimensions when scanning with the mobile app, provided best practices are followed. For tips on improving your scan, see our How can I improve my IKEA Kreativ scan? article.
Product Scaling: Once scanned, the app automatically places products in the room at their correct, estimated size. This means that when you arrange products within your virtual space, their scale should be as accurate as possible.
Configure a Room
When using the Configure a Room feature, you input your own room dimensions rather than scanning. This allows you to design your space with your exact measurements, giving you control over the layout without relying on scanning.
- Custom Dimensions: Input your room’s exact dimensions to create a floor plan and arrange products in your space. Products are automatically scaled based on your provided measurements.
