As our wide selection of artificial plants and live plants shows, we’re big fans of both options. We recognise that there are some situations where real plants make more sense, and others where the artificial variety might be a better fit.

Some faux desk plant advantages to consider include

• They’re allergy-friendly. While many would love nothing more than to be surrounded by plants and flowers, for others it’s a literal headache, eye watering or sneezing session waiting to happen. Artificial desk plants help ensure everyone in the office is comfortable. Even if you’re buying plants for your own home office, consider how often others share the same space in determining if real or faux desk plants make a better choice.
• They’re pet-friendly. While it’s always best to keep real and artificial desk plants away from pets, we are sometimes unsuccessful despite our best efforts especially those of us with acrobatic cats. Some real varieties are toxic to pets if ingested, and many pet parents decide not to risk having them in the home where they can fall or be knocked down.
• They’re not afraid of the dark—or too much light. While plants don’t require as much care or consideration as people or animals, as living things they do have some basic needs required to thrive. Oftentimes, we’re shopping for desk plants to liven up a space that gets little light. Other times we want to place them on a window sill, or another location where light can sometimes be too direct for some varieties. Faux desk plants give you the freedom to add plants here, there and everywhere without a care.
• They’re OOO-friendly. Gone are the days of returning from a well-deserved vacation to find your co-worker forgot to water your favourite desk buddy in your absence. With faux desk plants, you get the realistic look with none of the maintenance or heartbreak.
