Can IKEA pick up my mattress if I want to return it?
Yes – but it depends on whether your mattress has already been used or not:
Return of an unused mattress
- You can return unused mattresses within 365 days with a valid proof of purchase.
- If desired, the mattress can be picked up at your home by an IKEA shipping company.
- The cost of collection is 75 €.
- You can pick it up Order conveniently online.
Return of a used mattress
- If you have already used the mattress, it is unfortunately not possible to pick it up.
- As part of the 365-night trial sleepyou can return the mattress with proof of purchase if it doesn't fit you.
- The mattress must be brought to an IKEA store yourself.
Have an old mattress disposed of when buying a new one
When buying a new mattress, you can also book the collection and professional disposal of your old mattress.
Please note the following:
- The service is only available together with the purchase of a new mattress.
- Delivery must be made by freight forwarder.
- The service cannot be offered for parcel deliveries.
- It is not possible to dispose of old mattresses in the IKEA store.
- The costs are 14 € per mattress.
This is how mattress disposal works:
- The disposal service must be booked directly during the order.
- Our drivers bring a suitable disposal bag with them.
- You pack the old mattress yourself.
- Drivers take the packaged mattress with them upon delivery.
- The mattress is then disposed of properly.
Important for booking:
If your new mattress is paid for with Klarna or Ratepay, the disposal service can no longer be booked retrospectively. Therefore, book it directly when you buy it.

A unused mattress can be used for 75 € from IKEA and taken back. A used mattress as part of the 365-night trial sleep, you must bring yourself to an IKEA store.
