Can I return my IKEA mattress?

We want you to be really happy with your new mattress. If you find after a while that the mattress is too firm or too soft for you - you can bring it back and swap it for another mattress.

We know that you can't find the right mattress within ten minutes. Your body needs about four to six weeks to get used to the new mattress. That's why you can take your mattress home and lie on it and sleep until you're convinced of the quality and really feel comfortable. The pillow is also crucial for a good night's sleep.
You can exchange your mattress within 365 days of purchase if you change your mind – as long as it's not soiled or damaged. Simply bring your mattress into aIKEA store. We'll refund you the full purchase price on a prepaid card - and help you find a mattress that suits you better.
If you want to exchange your mattress for a new one that has a higher price, you only pay the difference between the original purchase price and the price of the new mattress. If the new mattress is cheaper, you will receive a prepaid card in the amount of the difference. You can use this for a future purchase - perhaps for a suitable new pillow?

Things to Consider

  • You can replace your mattress within 365 days.
  • Your mattress must not be dirty, stained or damaged.
  • The right of exchange does not apply to mattress toppers, ENGAVÅGEN springs, FÖLUNGEN springs, SÄBÖVIK mattresses, sofa bed mattresses, baby and children's mattresses and mattresses that are sold (only) together with a bed frame for a total price (BLÅFJÄLLET bed frame with mattress).
  • New mattresses often seem a bit too firm, so you should wait a month to get used to them.
  • The right pillow is also crucial.
  • Once you've found your ideal mattress, it's covered by our 10-year IKEA mattress warranty.
  • If your exchanged mattress costs more, you will only pay the difference between the original mattress and the replacement product.
  • If the replacement mattress is cheaper in price, you will be refunded the difference on an IKEA prepaid card.
  • You can return your IKEA mattress to the IKEA store, but it is not possible to return it to our planning studios.
