How do I care for my worktop?

With our kitchen worktops - just like with our METOD kitchen system - you get a long-term warranty. To ensure that you can enjoy it for a long time, here are a few simple care tips tailored to the material of your worktop. Good care will ensure that your worktop remains beautiful over long time.

Laminate worktops:

Thanks to their robust coating, laminate surfaces are moisture-resistant and easy to clean – ideal for households that value long-lasting quality and uncomplicated cleaning. Everyday dirt can be easily removed with a damp cloth and a some mild dish-soap. Special cleaners are not necessary.
To ensure that you can enjoy your worktop for a long time, it is sufficient to avoid extreme heat and protect joints from standing moisture - no more care is needed.

Wood veneer worktops:

Like any natural material, real wood veneer reacts sensitively to moisture. To keep the surface looking its best, wipe away water and other liquids promptly. In this way, water stains can be reliably avoided and the natural appearance of the worktop is retained in the long term.
Regular care using suitable wood oils or care products supports longevity and maintains the warm, authentic character of the surface. This way, your worktop will remain a real eye-catcher for many years. At the same time, the sealing reliably protects the material from moisture and ensures that it can withstand the demands of modern everyday kitchen life.
How to do it:
  1. Lightly sand the worktop (using sandpaper with a grit size of 180 or higher).
  2. Apply wood oil (for example TRIXIG wood oil).
  3. Wait 15 minutes, then remove any excess oil with a soft cloth.

Glass composite worktops:

Made from recycled glass and bio-based resin, they are among our most sustainable products – ideal for anyone who values a modern, resource-saving kitchen.
The surface is not only aesthetic and high-quality, but also resistant and easy to clean. For a long-term flawless appearance, we recommend using a cutting board as well as pot stands, as sharp tools and direct heat can affect the resin.

Quartz composite worktops:

The material consists of high-quality quartz crystal, combined with resins, pigments and finely processed glass components. The result is a homogeneous, elegant look that is based on natural stone – and at the same time offers consistent quality as well as an impressive variety of colours and textures.
The surface is particularly resistant, easy to clean and ideal for daily kitchen use. However, in order to preserve the beauty permanently, due to the resin content, we recommend protecting the countertop from direct heat and sharp tools. Pot stands and cutting boards support a long service life and a permanently flawless appearance.

Porcelain composite worktops:

Porcelain composite worktops are made from a precisely coordinated mixture of around 20 natural components, which are mixed with water and processed under high compression. This creates an extremely robust, dense and finely textured ceramic surface not only looks impressively elegant, but also effortlessly withstands all the demands of daily life.
Thanks to their exceptional material hardness, they do not require any special care. The surface offers long‑lasting colour and dimensional stability, is extremely scratch‑resistant, stain‑resistant and completely hygienic. Even heat cannot harm it: hot pots and pans can be placed directly on the worktop - without risk of discoloration or damage.
However, in order to maintain the sharpness of your knives in the long term, we still recommend using a cutting board. The worktop surface itself would remain undamaged, but its hardness could affect the knife blade.
