How do I get VAT back on my IKEA purchases?

The possibility of a VAT refund depends on the country to which the goods are exported and whether you are buying as a private individual or as a company.

For exports to an EU country, a VAT refund is not possible for private customers. For companies, a tax-free intra-Community supply or a VAT refund may be possible within the EU.
For exports to non-EU countries (third countries), both private customers and companies can receive a VAT refund, provided that the legal requirements are met.
