Benefits

Working for us has its benefits

We believe in people. Each and every day, each and every IKEA co-worker brings their unique ideas and talents to work. We want to be sure that every co-worker feels welcome and valued. Because when our co-workers grow, IKEA grows too.

Wherever you are in the world, working for us has lots of benefits. Here are just a few of them:

One IKEA Bonus programme

The One IKEA Bonus programme is a bonus system for all co-workers of the IKEA Group, based on performance and our values of simplicity and solidarity, and a culture in which everyone in the same unit has the same goal. Shared goals enable us to work together as one IKEA.

Tack! loyalty programme for co-workers

We couldn’t do anything without our 166.000 talented and engaged co-workers. We set up “Tack!” to say thanks to our loyal co-workers. (“Tack!” is Swedish for “thanks”).

Through “Tack”, eligible co-workers get an extra contribution to their pension. Department, job and salary are unimportant – everyone in a given country gets the same amount.

Co-worker discount

Our co-workers benefit from an attractive co-worker discount when they shop at IKEA and IKEA FOOD. Making your dream interior a little more affordable. Your IKEA co-worker discount is also available abroad.

Colleagues who retire after working for at least ten years at IKEA enjoy this discount for life.

IKEA co-worker restaurant

As well as the customer restaurant there’s also a separate co-worker restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious (hot) meal at democratic prices. Choose from our Swedish specialities or classic Belgian dishes. The menu changes every week.

Insurance

As much as we hope everything goes well, we know that something can always go wrong. With that in mind, every co-worker is automatically covered by hospitalisation and private accident insurance paid for by IKEA.
You are also covered by our group insurance, which means we contribute to your pension.

Extra leave

As well as statutory leave, every full-time co-worker receives an additional three days’ leave per year. Full-time co-workers work a 36-hour week, the actual total is six days extra over the year.
Loyalty to IKEA is not only rewarded through TACK! Once you have worked at IKEA for five years you receive another two days’ leave. And one day’s leave is added to that for every subsequent block of five years at IKEA.

We are focused on your development

Every co-worker can count on thorough training when they join IKEA. We help you settle in fast with a blend of on-the-job training and classroom courses. Looking for more challenges at IKEA? If you have leadership ambitions or a desire to see the world with IKEA, we’re there to help you realise your dreams with a range of courses and programmes.

Tillsammans

“Tillsammans” (Swedish for “together”) is the quintessence of IKEA culture.

Working and succeeding together with enthusiasm and celebrating success together, that’s what we do best at IKEA. Taking a trip with the team, get-togethers with colleagues, making time for a family day… we do all that “tillsammans” too!
