Dogs are welcome at IKEA Gent!
From February 1, 2025, dogs will be allowed at IKEA Ghent. Bring your faithful four-legged friend and enjoy a fun shopping experience together. Whether you're looking for new furniture, home decor or just a fun day out, your dog can now accompany you as you discover everything. We look forward to welcoming you and your best friend to our store! 🐶🎉
You'll give your dog and other visitors a pleasant shopping experience:
-
Dogs must always be kept on a leash no longer than 1.5 m in length.
-
Dogs must always be accompanied by their owner and may not be left behind or tied to anything. Under no circumstances may they roam freely in the store.
-
Dogs are allowed throughout the store, with the exception of the Swedish restaurant and the Swedish shop/bistro. Only assistance dogs are allowed in these areas.
-
Dogs are not allowed on furniture and must always remain on the floor or in a carrier from which they cannot be removed.
-
All dog owners must avoid letting their pet defecate inside the store. If this happens, the owner must remove the faeces immediately and take the necessary tools to do so. Always notify an IKEA employee so that the area can be cleaned up as well.
-
In stores, there may be people or children who are unfamiliar with dogs: always make sure your dog doesn't disturb or frighten other customers, and respect everyone's needs.
-
The dog owner is always responsible for the animal's welfare and is liable for any damage caused by the dog to IKEA or to third parties, as well as for any resulting costs.
-
Dogs that look very weak or ill, or that appear to be in a poor state of hygiene, will not be admitted. Dogs displaying visible or potentially aggressive behavior will also be refused entry.
