Vegetable sausages with three toppings
Not sure what to do with the extra REFRÄNG vegetable sausages and mashed potatoes you made last night? Go gourmet with a few easy additions you may already have in your fridge or pantry. Take a a flavour-packed journey inspired with Mediterranean, Asian, and Swedish-style toppings.

Serves: 3-6 | Preparation time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 6 REFRÄNG vegetable sausages
- 6 hot dog buns
Avocado topping
- 1/2 avocado
- 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
- 1 tbsp onion, finely chopped
- Coriander, chopped
- Sea salt flakes
- Chilli flakes
Classic Swedish topping
- 1 dl ALLEMANSRÄTTEN mashed potatoes
- KETCHUP tomato ketchup
- SENAP MILD mild mustard
- ROSTAD LÖK fried onion
- Chives, finely chopped
Hot topping
- 2 tbsp cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp red chilli, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 6 carrot sticks, thinly cut
- 1 ml salt
- Hot sauce
- Coriander, chopped
- Black sesame seeds Plant based
Step by step
- Choose and prepare your toppings. Each topping is for two sausages.
- 2. Cook the sausages according to the instructions on the package. Place the sausages in the buns and serve with toppings:
Avocado topping
- Peel and slice the avocado thinly.
- Place the sausage in the bun and top with avocado, onion, and pomegranate seeds. Sprinkle sea salt, chilli, and coriander over the vegetable sausage.
Hot topping
- Squeeze as much liquid as possible from the cucumber slices. Mix them with chilli, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let sit for a while before serving.
- Place the sausage in the bun and top with hot sauce, cucumber salad, carrot sticks, coriander, and sesame seeds.
Classic Swedish topping
- Place the sausage in the bun and top with mustard, ketchup, mashed potatoes, roasted onions, and finely chopped chives.
