‘Fast food’ hoeft niet ongezond te zijn

A handful of freshly cut vegetables is just as tasty as a handful of processed snacks, and it's usually better for you too. Yet people often choose packaged snacks simply because they are convenient. With a mandoline, preparing healthy snacks is almost as easy as opening a packet. And a lot more fun.

The right tools for the job

With the right basic tools, such as a cutting board and a sharp knife, preparing food every day becomes easier and can even be fun. Is there anything more satisfying than a sharp knife cutting effortlessly through a mushroom? Probably, but it's still a lot of fun.

One pan for everything

A one-pot meal saves you time, energy, and washing up. If you make a weekly menu, you can organize your time better and avoid impulse purchases in the store. And while you're at it, you can hang your menu on a bulletin board in the kitchen so that everyone knows what to expect and can look forward to it.

Delicious leftovers

Don't throw away those leftovers or let them rot in the fridge. Just fry them up. In Sweden, this is called “pyttipanna” – literally “little pieces in a pan.” It's usually topped with an egg. But you decide what to do with your leftovers.

The oven saves you time

Cooking several things at once in the oven is super convenient. Just don't forget to swap the trays around at some point to ensure even coloring.

Cooking in the oven gives you more and less

There is a lot to be said for cooking in the oven: more nutrients, more flavor, more convenience. What's more, there is less fat, less supervision, and less mess. Add all that up and you'll see that the oven is a real friend in the kitchen.
