How to choose an ergonomic pillow

Dreaming of better support for your head while you sleep? Try an ergonomic pillow! Their sole purpose is to put your head and neck in proper alignment with your spine so you get a more comfortable sleep. Of course, everyone’s sleep needs differ, so our ergonomic pillows come in different shapes and sizes to improve everything from long sleeps to quick naps. Not sure which one’s right for you? It’s what’s inside your ergonomic pillow that counts

There’s more to our ergonomic pillows than meets the eye! That’s because they are all about what’s inside – namely, memory foam. Moulding to the shape of your head and neck and responding to your body temperature, memory foam cradles and supports your muscles so they can relax properly.

The result? You move less during the night, helping you to have a better night’s sleep.

Perfect support for your head – whatever position you sleep in!

How you sleep matters when you’re choosing your ergonomic pillow. If you sleep on your side or your back, you have different needs to someone who sleeps on their stomach, since the goal is always to maintain the correct alignment of your head and spine.

This means that if you sleep on your side or your back, you need a higher pillow to accommodate your shoulders or put your head in the right position. Stomach sleepers, on the other hand, need low ergonomic pillows to put their head in proper alignment.

Choose the pillow shape that suits you!

While all our ergonomic pillows have the same goal of helping your body relax more deeply when you’re asleep, they each go about it in their own way. That’s because they come in different shapes and sizes and with different constructions to cater for all kinds of sleep positions and comfort preferences.

Pillows with a different height on each side offer flexible sleeping options for both side and back sleepers. Smaller pillows and ones with a curved edge give you space to put your arms comfortably up near your head. And if you get hot while you sleep, some of our ergonomic pillows have a cooling layer.

You and your ergonomic pillow – it’s a long-term thing

Good news! Your ergonomic pillow is easy to keep clean and in good condition so it’s not going anywhere for a long time. Each pillow has a removable cover that’s machine-washable at 60°C to keep them hygienic and dust-mite free.

You can’t wash the memory foam filling, but regular airing will maintain its freshness. Obviously you’ll be thinking about a pillowcase too, so it’s good to know that some of our memory foam pillows fit into our regular pillowcases. For the ones that don’t, we have a special range of tailored pillowcases with a snug fit.
